Don Jr says evidence against Charlie Kirk suspect is 'clear', puts conspiracy theories 'at rest'
PROVO, UTAH: Donald Trump Jr said newly unsealed evidence presented in the murder case of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has largely settled questions surrounding the killing, arguing that the case against suspect Tyler Robinson appears increasingly clear.
Speaking after attending court proceedings this week, Trump Jr said evidence shown during Robinson's preliminary hearing convinced him that prosecutors have built a strong case.
The comments came on Thursday, July 9, as prosecutors continued presenting evidence in an effort to move the aggravated murder case to trial.

Donald Trump Jr says evidence leaves little room for doubt
Trump Jr, a longtime friend of Kirk and frequent speaker at Turning Point USA events, said the evidence presented in court has changed how many people view the case.
"Based on everything that I saw in that courtroom, it's very clear to me that Tyler Robinson did this," Trump Jr said during an appearance on Jesse Watters Primetime.
He pointed specifically to DNA evidence, testimony presented in court and Robinson's decision to surrender to authorities.
"This stuff is very cut-and-dry at this point," Trump Jr said. "The DNA evidence, the fact that… he turned himself in… to me, it puts so much of this at rest."
According to Trump Jr, what may have once been a "50–50" debate among some observers has now shifted dramatically as more evidence becomes public.
Prosecutors present texts allegedly sent by Tyler Robinson
A major focus of Thursday's hearing was a series of text messages prosecutors say Robinson sent to his roommate after the shooting.
According to testimony presented in court, Robinson allegedly admitted responsibility for Kirk's death and explained his motive.
Prosecutors said Robinson told his roommate that he "had enough of his hatred."
The alleged messages were introduced as part of a growing body of evidence prosecutors hope will establish probable cause for the case to proceed to trial.
Prosecutors also introduced additional evidence on Thursday as they continued building their case against Robinson, who is accused of fatally shooting Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
Robinson, 23, could face the death penalty if convicted.
Questions remain about security at Charlie Kirk's event
While Trump Jr said the evidence against Robinson appears strong, he argued that another important question remains unanswered.
"The biggest question in my mind at this point is not whether Tyler Robinson did this," he said, before asking why only six police officers were reportedly assigned to the university event.
Trump Jr noted that Turning Point USA campus appearances often attract large crowds and typically involve a larger security presence.
"These are big events," he said. "I've done 100 of them with Charlie Kirk on college campuses all over the place."
He added that the limited security described during the proceedings was "truly scary."
