WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump boasted that one of the secrets to his success in politics is his capacity to hold audiences' attention for extended periods during his interview with podcaster Lex Fridman.

The White House hopeful also seemed to imply that "nobody leaves" during his rallies, in which he speaks for at least ninety minutes. However, not everyone is persuaded about his public speaking skills.

Donald Trump says it's difficult to speak to the kinds of audiences he does

When Lex Fridman asked the GOP nominee about the distinction between success in politics and business, the 78-year-old said, "I have a lot of people that are in business that are successful and they’d like to go over to politics. And then you realize, they can't speak. They choke," as per HuffPost

Trump added, "Let’s say you’re talking about a big audience, but I get very big audiences and you know, for many people, it's virtually impossible to get up and speak for an hour and a half and have nobody leave. You know, it's not an easy thing to do and it’s an ability."

Donald Trump goes off-topic when asked about upcoming debate against Kamala Harris

Donald Trump also responded to Lex Fridman's question regarding his approach to handling his forthcoming debate with Kamala Harris in a convoluted manner.

"So I’ve done a lot of debating, only as a politician. I never debated. My first debate was the Rosie O'Donnell debate, right? The famous Rosie O’Donnell Debate. The answer," said the MAGA spearhead, as per Independent

He was seemingly alluding to the August 2015 presidential primary debate, in which Megyn Kelly, the moderator, began a question by saying, "You've called women you don't like, 'fat pigs', 'dogs', 'slobs', and 'disgusting animals.'" Trump interrupted her, and said, "Only Rosie O'Donnell."

Trump then mentioned, "But I’ve done well with debates. I became president, and then the second time I got millions more votes than I got the first time."

"I was told if I got 63 million … you would win. You can’t not win. And I got millions of more votes than that and lost by a whisker but— and look at what happened with the world," remarked the former president, conceding that he did lose against President Joe Biden

Internet had the receipts ready to prove Donald Trump wrong

At several of Donald Trump's rallies, attendees have reportedly left early, leaving seats empty, while he rambled about windmills, Hannibal Lecter, and sharks.

After Fridman shared the podcast interview on X (formerly Twitter), netizens were quick to point out that the former president's claims regarding his ability to hold audiences' attention for extended periods weren't entirely true.

One X user shared a video that showed several rally attendees walking out on Trump while he was still talking. Another commented, "There are receipts...Donald. Streams of people walk out on you after about 30-60 minutes of your same old boring stuff."

Editor-in-Chief of MeidasTouch Ron Filipkowski reshared a video from June, which showed people leaving amid the former president's speech.

An individual shared a clip showing people walking out on him during a Manchester, New Hampshire rally, writing, "What's going on here then? Don't worry - I'll be here to fact check Baby Clementine on everything. Follow for more."

One more joked, "The paid actors can’t walk out or they won’t get paid. Actually, he doesn't pay his actors that are hired for these rally’s, so they walk out anyways."
