Donald Trump gets gigantic 88ft flagpoles installed at White House: ‘Best poles anywhere in the country’

WASHINGTON, DC: In his latest bid to redecorate his presidential residence, President Donald Trump has installed two new gigantic flag poles on the White House grounds.
In the face of mounting Middle East violence and domestic MAGA backlash, the 79-year-old POTUS took a break from his hectic schedule to oversee the unveiling of the gigantic flagpoles on Wednesday, June 18.
Two new flagpoles now rise at the White House — proud, unwavering, and free. This isn’t just a symbol; it’s the American story — written in sacrifice, stitched with courage, and raised for all the world to see.

“It’s a very exciting project to me. These are the best poles anywhere in the country or in the world,” the president told reporters gathered to watch construction workers erect one of the poles, CNN reported.

The installation of enormous flagpoles, one on the north lawn and one on the south lawn, began early on June 18.
Trump spent nearly an hour monitoring and remarking on the flagpole's installation despite heightened international tensions awaiting him.

A US flag was later raised on the South Lawn at about 1 pm during a ceremony attended by the POTUS alongside the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, his daughter Ivanka Trump, and son-in-law Jared Kushner, who were at the White House for the swearing in of Charles Kushner as ambassador to France.

The president saluted the large American flag, which required five men to hoist up the newly erected pole.
Soon, a second flag pole of the same height was installed on the North Lawn. A few hours later, after thunderstorms passed through Washington, DC, a second flag of the same dimensions was raised.

Donald Trump sings praises of new flagpoles at the White House
“I’ve had it for a long time. In the first term, I had it, but you know you guys were after me … I was the hunted, and now I’m the hunter. There’s a big difference,” Trump told reporters at the White House, according to Daily Mail.
The two poles cost him about $50,000 each to complete, Trump said before comparing their quality to the flagpoles at his Florida clubs, Doral and Mar-a-Lago.

There is no doubt that Trump is having huge flagpoles erected at the White House. He said they were "approximately 100 feet" tall, but his press secretary Karoline Leavitt supplied a more precise measurement of 88 feet.
“This is about the largest you'll ever see, and it's tapered. It's a quality that you guys rarely get to even put up,” Trump said, before adding, “So we'll have one on this side of the building. We'll have one on that side of the building, properly placed. In this case, we had a lot of choices, putting it on that hill, putting it in different places. It's such a beautiful pole, we thought we'd put it near.”

Trump called it a significant upgrade over the flag that flies above the ancient executive mansion in Georgia, or flagpoles as they are now known.
"There’s a little flagpole that’s like 15 feet high – little tiny flag up top. This is the real deal. This is the best you can get. Nothing like this. You know, most of them are 20 feet, 25 feet, this is close to 100 feet. And I think it’s a great location. You know you put it out there, people don’t appreciate it," the real estate mogul said.
Following the installation, the White House took to X to share a video of the flag, saying, “Thank you, @POTUS.”

The project is a part of the president's Trumpian renovation of the White House, which also includes renovating the Rose Garden and adding a lot more gold to the Oval Office.
