PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: GOP nominee Donald Trump claimed his Democratic rival Kamala Harris "lost" the presidential debate on Tuesday, September 10 evening, telling Fox News host Sean Hannity in the Spin Room of the event.on why the latter wanted a rematch.

The Harris campaign put out an email challenging Trump for a second debate less than an hour after the event at The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia ended, reported ABC News.

"Under the bright lights, the American people got to see the choice they will face this fall at the ballot box: between moving forward with Kamala Harris, or going backwards with Trump," read the mail, touting the vice president's performance against the former president.

"That’s what they saw tonight and what they should see at a second debate in October. Vice President Harris is ready for a second debate. Is Donald Trump?” it ended, leaving Trump to come up with a response.

Donald Trump's conversation with Sean Hannity

When Hannity asked Trump about the Harris campaign's proposal for a second debate, the latter promptly replied, "It's because she lost. She wants it because she lost."

The former president stated that he would have to think about his response, as he went on to explain, "If you won the debate, I sort of think maybe I shouldn't do it. Why should I do another debate? She immediately said, 'We want another.' That's, you know, what happens when you're a prizefighter and you lose, you immediately want a new fight... a rematch.”

Trump said he would consider going up against Harris in another debate if it gets hosted by a "fair network."
