HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA: Former President Donald Trump rambled about how he hates mosquitos while sidetracking from his swipe at Minnesota Gov Tim Walz for tagging him and his running mate JD Vance "weird."

The GOP presidential nominee went off tangent during a one-hour pre-taped town hall with Fox News' Sean Hannity on Wednesday, September 4, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Trump claimed that neither he nor his VP candidate Vance was "weird", receiving cheers from the crowd, but shortly after a mosquito interrupted his train of thought, as per The Independent.

"I hate mosquitos. I’m surprised, I didn't think we had... We don't like those mosquitoes running around," the real estate mogul said, swatting away the insect.  "We want nothing to do with them — and we want nothing to do with bad politicians that hate our country, too."

Hannity questioned Trump about Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, Walz, before the latter veered off to his mosquito rant.

This prompted the ex-president to hail the endorsement from the Minnesota governor's extended family.

"I was so honored today. His brother endorsed me — and his whole family!" Trump said, referring to Jeff Walz. "I saw the picture. Honestly, it was a very nice looking family."

On September 2, Walz's extended family declared their support for Trump, sharing a picture of them in "Walz's for Trump" T-shirts posing before a "Trump 2024" flag.

"There is something weird with that guy. He's a weird guy," the MAGA spearhead said of the Minnesota governor, adding, "JD is not weird. He's a solid rock. I happen to be a very solid rock."

Trump's remarks roused the crowd as he asserted, "We're not weird. We are other things, perhaps, but we're not weird."

The Democratic vice presidential candidate was the first to tag Trump and Vance as "weird," which later turned into a slogan of the Harris-Walz campaign's attack.

In the town hall with Hannity, less than a week before his first face-off with Harris on ABC News, Trump attacked the vice president's border policies, doubling down on his claim that illegal immigrants entering the US were murderers and drug dealers from jails and mental institutions.

He then reiterated his pledge of "largest deportation in the history of the country" if elected for a second White House term.

Trump's Pennsylvania town hall with Hannity was in response to Harris denying a debate on Fox News that was proposed to be held on September 4.

Internet mocks Trump as he is distracted by mosquitos at town hall

Netizens ridiculed Trump for rambling about hating mosquitoes during the town hall with Hannity. Some even drew a parallel of a fly landing on his former VP Mike Pence's head during a 2020 debate.

"And right after he talks about Kamala not doing interviews because “she will lose her train of thought” .. he’s an idiot," a user said.

"Both him and his former VP are the lords of the flies," another added.

"This guy right here is the best at making a fool of himself," said a third user.

"Mosquitos are annoying, and bad politicians just make it worse," read a fourth response.

"Like a mosquito could make it through that bronzer," another user added.

"Insect distracted by a moron," read one remark.
