CHICAGO, ILLINIOS: Stephanie Grisham, the former White House press secretary under Donald Trump, will be speaking at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

Grisham, who once served as a close aide to Trump, has now become one of the most prominent former Trump allies to turn into a critic.

Stephanie Grisham resigned from Donald Trump's office after Capitol riots

Stephanie Grisham’s political journey began as a press aide for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

She later served as the press secretary to former First Lady Melania Trump before briefly holding the role of White House press secretary.

Notably, during her tenure, she did not conduct any briefings with reporters. After transitioning to the role of communications director, Grisham eventually resigned from the Trump administration following the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.

Since then, she has been an outspoken critic of Trump. Grisham is one of several prominent anti-Trump Republicans scheduled to deliver remarks at the DNC.

Why will Stephanie Grisham speak against Donald Trump at Chicago DNC?

Stephanie Grisham expressed that she had never thought of speaking at the DNC but what she has experienced firsthand has forced her to come out.

"I never thought I’d be speaking at a Democratic convention. But, after seeing firsthand who Donald Trump really is, and the threat he poses to our country, I feel very strongly about speaking out," Grisham said in a statement to NBC News.

She has also expressed her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, despite acknowledging some differences in their views.

"I don’t agree with Vice President Harris on everything but am proud to support her because she knows she will defend our freedoms and represent our nation with honesty and integrity," she noted.

Kamala Harris' campaign seeks support from anti-Trump Republicans

Following the announcement of her campaign last month, Kamala Harris’ team has welcomed anti-Trump Republican voters to join her effort.

The Harris campaign plans to host Grisham and other Republicans, including former Representative Adam Kinzinger, Mesa, Arizona, Mayor John Giles, Olivia Troye, a former homeland security aide to former Vice President Mike Pence, and former Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan."We will be putting patriotic Republicans front and center in our convention programming to explain, in their own words, why they are putting country first and supporting Vice President Harris." Austin Weatherford, the Harris campaign’s director of Republican engagement, stated.

Grisham is expected to use her platform at the DNC to call on fellow Republicans to join her in supporting Harris, "to ensure Donald Trump never returns to the White House," she remarked, as reported by the publication.

Stephanie Grisham slammed as 'sellout' by Internet

Online reactions to Stephanie Grisham’s upcoming speech have been mixed. Many of the users mocked her preferences suggesting she was unreliable and and a sellout.

"I hope she tells all!" wrote one user on X. "This is good news," wrote another.

Someone else penned, "Of the 44 people who worked closest with Trump, 40 refuse to endorse him. That says a lot."

However, another criticized her, saying, "Stephanie Grisham is a backstabbing sell-out." "These women should not be rewarded. They aren't heroes - they are examples of opportunism and complicity," read another tweet.
