“My dream has been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour,” she said in a release. “This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward [to] meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut.”
Kai Trump committed to University of Miami women’s golf team
The rising golf star, who currently attends The Benjamin School in Florida, has already made a name for herself on the junior circuit.
Ranked No 461 in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Girls standings, Kai has competed in several national and Florida-based amateur tournaments. Earlier this year, she committed to the University of Miami women’s golf team, where she’s expected to begin competing in 2026.
The LPGA’s chief tour business and operations officer, Ricki Lasky, praised the decision to invite Kai, noting that she’s introducing the sport to a broader audience.
“Sponsor invitations are an important way to spotlight emerging talent and bring new attention to our tournaments and the LPGA,” Lasky said. “Kai’s broad following and reach are helping introduce golf to new audiences, especially among younger fans. We’re excited to see her take this next step in her journey.”
Social media sensation meets golf prodigy
With over six million followers across her social media platforms, Kai Trump has already built a strong fanbase beyond the fairway. Earlier this year, she launched her own apparel and lifestyle brand, further expanding her influence among Gen Z sports fans.
Her online presence, combined with her growing athletic achievements, has made her one of golf’s most-watched young prospects.
The 18-year-old's participation in The Annika will see her face off against golf heavyweights, including world No 2 Nelly Korda, who won the tournament last year. Also joining the lineup is WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark, who will return to the pro-am event for the second consecutive year.
Kai, the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr and his ex-wife Vanessa Trump, is the first of the president’s grandchildren to gain recognition in professional sports.
