WILTON, CONNECTICUT: Blake Lively, 37, stopped by Rise Doughnuts in Wilton, Connecticut, last week to try her hand at cooking, but instead of just baking sweet treats, she stirred up trouble.

The internet was quick to criticize the 'It Ends With Us' actress for not wearing a hairnet while working in the kitchen, TMZ reported.

Blake Lively’s stop at local bakery draws health department scrutiny

Video clips from the visit captured Blake Lively laughing and playfully kneading dough, her blonde hair flowing loosely around her shoulders inside the donut shop, which is reportedly owned by her friend.

“Baking with genius food friends and their kitchen mixer the size of a car..this is my happy place,” she posted in her Instagram Story.

But not everyone shared her enthusiasm. Complaints rolled in, prompting the Wilton Health Department to launch an official investigation into the bakery’s sanitary practices.

A spokesperson for the Wilton Health Department confirmed they've received several complaints about Lively handling food in the kitchen without wearing a hairnet, hat, or even tying back her blonde hair—raising concerns about it falling into the $5 artisanal donuts. The business is now under investigation as a result.

The officials informed the outlet that they found zero violations at the donut shop and no fine was issued, with the case being officially closed.

Rise Doughnuts, which currently holds an impressive 4.5-star rating on Yelp, has had new reviews temporarily paused. Yelp’s Support team is now monitoring the business due to the recent media attention.

A source close to Lively told TMZ, “The so-called complaints are from people who have never been there and who don’t even live in Connecticut. Targeting a lovely, small, family-owned business is a new low in the retaliation campaign.”

The donut shop Blake Lively visited may have been cleared by the health department, but that hasn’t stopped critics online from dishing out their own harsh takes on the same.

Some users accused Lively of being out of touch. “Blake Lively lives in another reality. She should know by now anything she does will backfire,” one comment read. Another wrote, “How very Meghan Markle of her.”

The criticism didn’t stop there. One user claimed, “She destroys everything she touches,” while another wrote, “Blake Lively is a walking disaster!!!”

“She’s becoming as useless and nauseating as the twit Markle,” another user added. One sarcastically asked, “Is she related Meghan Markel? Maybe Netflix can hire her to do a cooking show.”
