Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney not on same page on how to honor Matthew Perry's legacy
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney are having differences of opinion over the way they want to honor their friend, Matthew Perry, after his death in October 2023.
Perry was 54 when he was discovered dead inside a hot tub at his home on October 28.
Later, a report by the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner stated that “drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine (used to treat opioid use disorder)” led to his passing.

Jennifer Aniston ‘wants to emphasize the joy he [Perry] brought into world’
Now, his ‘Friends’ co-star and Clooney have different approaches to celebrating Perry’s life, RadarOnline.com reported.
An insider shared, “It's a dramatic clash of perspectives as Jennifer remains staunch in her determination to preserve a positive image of Perry.”
They continued, “She wants to emphasize the joy he brought into the world, particularly highlighting that he seemed happy on the day he passed away.”
Also, following Perry’s shock death, Aniston said, “For Matty, he KNEW he loved to make people laugh. As he said himself, if he didn't hear the ‘laugh’ he thought he was going to die.”

“His life literally depended on it. And boy did he succeed in doing just that. He made all of us laugh. And laugh hard,” she added.
But the 62-year-old actor did not think the way the ‘Murder Mystery’ actress does.
“Clooney, known for his candid honesty, believes being truthful about Matthew's challenges — particularly with addiction — could serve as a valuable lesson and help others facing similar battles,” the source added.
Matthew Perry said he wanted ‘to be remembered as somebody who lived well’
Perry, however, when alive was very honest about his addiction and the struggles he faced.
He reportedly shared in 2022, “The best thing about me, bar none, is that if somebody comes to me and says, ‘I can’t stop drinking, can you help me?’ I can say ‘yes’ and follow up and do it.”
The star added, “When I die, I don’t want Friends to be the first thing that’s mentioned. I want that to be the first thing that’s mentioned. And I’m gonna live the rest of my life proving that.”
“I would like to be remembered as somebody who lived well, loved well, was a seeker. And his paramount thing is that he wants to help people. That’s what I want,” Perry mentioned at the time.
