NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Rep Lauren Boebert (R-Co) floated a conspiracy theory that her colleague, Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene's (R-Ga) motion to oust Mike Johnson (R-La) from the chair of House Speaker may result in House Democrats disqualifying presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump from the ballot of the 2024 presidential election.

The claim, which she made during an interview on Real America's Voice, was not bought by netizens, who went on to troll her over the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Rep Lauren Boebert's theory on the ouster of Speaker Johnson

In a clip of the television interview posted on X, Boebert says, "I'll be damned if I give Hakeem Jeffries any opportunity to have the power to prevent President Trump from being in the White House in 2025, and that's exactly what will happen if we follow through with this motion to vacate."

"I know that I have just enough Republican colleagues who are weak enough, compromised enough, corrupt enough - whatever term you want to use - that they would either resign immediately or vote for Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker of the House, and I will not allow that to happen," she continued, slamming her colleagues.

Boebert claimed that some of her Democrat colleagues have said that "they would do whatever they can to have Congressional authority to prevent President Trump from being on the ballot this year if they could."

"If they get the gavel not just of the House floor but of the Committees, that would be their number one agenda ... to ensure that they had legislation passed through the House, the Senate, and signed by crooked Joe Biden himself to prevent President Trump from being on that ballot," she added.

Internet reacts to Rep Lauren Boebert's claim

"She really is stupid. I'm not saying it in a mean way—just as an observation. She is honestly dumber than a goat that bonked its head one too many times against a fencepost," a user trolled Boebert, responding to the clip on X.

"She doesn’t have to worry about someone paying off her student loans," mocked another.

"She always has that Assistant Manager’s job waiting for her at Walmart’s," jibed a third.

"@laurenboebert should stick to what she's good at—groping in theaters—as she knows nothing about legislation," chided a fourth user.

"Big brains 🧠 on Boebert 🤣🤣🤣" sarcastically commented a fifth.

"She’s gonna lose her job next year!" exclaimed a sixth.
