Eddie Murphy and Mel B’s child identifies as trans man after turning 18, changes pronoun on social media
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Eddie Murphy and Mel B’s only child has reportedly come out as a trans man and also changed pronouns to "him" on his social media page.
The comedian and the former Spice Girls member were romantically involved in 2006 for a brief period, and in April 2007, the latter gave birth to their daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown.
However, now the change in identity of Angel, who turned 18 this year, has been supported by his famous parents, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Eddie Murphy and Mel B have ‘been understanding’ of Angel’s decision
A source shared that “it's a decision Angel made and Mel has been understanding, likewise Eddie.”
“There was no big event to mark it. Angel just wanted it to be known what pronouns are now suitable,” they added.
This came after Angel’s mother, whose full name is Melanie Janine Brown, marked her child’s milestone birthday on her Instagram page.
Mel B calls Angel ‘bright and so talented’
Sharing multiple pictures of herself and her child, the 50-year-old wrote, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY ANGEL !!! I cannot believe you’re 18. You are so special and so bright and so talented!!”

“I couldn't be prouder of watching you grow and become the person you are but you'll forever be my babyyyy. I hope you keep chasing your dreams and be kind to everyone around you like you always have been my Angel Love you always ❤️❤️❤️,” Mel B added.
The television personality is also the mother of two daughters. Her eldest child is Phoenix Brown with ex-husband, Jimmy Gulzar, and her youngest is Madison Brown Belafonte with second ex-husband, Stephen Belafonte.

Her relationship with the 64-year-old Murphy did not end on a good note, resulting in a high-profile paternity dispute, which was eventually settled in 2009.
During a 2019 appearance on Piers Morgan's ‘Life Stories’, the actress had reportedly said, “He apologizes to this day about that.”

“He wishes he never said it because that baby was planned; we planned that baby together, and we were madly in love, and it just went wrong, dramatically went wrong,” she added.
Eddie Murphy ‘loves fatherhood’
Meanwhile, the comedian has fathered nine more children apart from Angel.
He had once said, “I love fatherhood. I am so blessed with my kids.”
“I don't have one bad seed. I don't have any like 'Oh you are the one.' I don't have any of that. My kids are so great, normal people — and nobody is like the Hollywood jerk kid,” the ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ actor said, as per PEOPLE.
His eldest one is Eric Murphy, whom he had with his then-girlfriend Paulette McNeely in July 1989.
Bria Murphy is his second child and first daughter. He shares her with his then-wife, Nicole Mitchell. His other children's names are Christian Murphy, Myles Mitchell Murphy, Shayne Audra Murphy, Zola Ivy Murphy, Bella Zahra Murphy, Izzy Oona Murphy, and Max Charles Murphy.
