Eddie Murphy sparks rumors by calling longtime fiancee Paige Butcher his 'wife' twice in new interview
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian and actor Eddie Murphy has got his fans curious after he called his fiancee Paige Butcher his "wife" during a recent interview.
Talking with The New York Times' ‘The Interview’ podcast, the star was discussing Marlon Brando’s interest in meeting him in person, when he was a newcomer in the industry at one instance.
That’s when Murphy shared that he was ‘hip’ at one time but now he won’t be able to recognize younger talents.
"I used to be so hip, I used to know who everybody was, and now there's just so much stuff. [I] ask my wife, 'Who's this person?'" Murphy revealed, adding that he doesn't "even know what's going on."

During the same interview, the 63-year-old once again mentioned Paige Butcher as his wife.
"I watch every night at six o'clock when I eat dinner, watch Steve Harvey and Family Feud and on Tuesdays I watch The Masked Singer," he said, before adding, "My wife and I, we watch all those shows with singing competitions and that kind of stuff."
The star also mentioned that he watched "All of the Golden Bachelor" and had a relatable reaction to the results.
Murphy and Butcher started dating in 2012 and got engaged in 2018, per People.
The pair also share a daughter, Izzy Oona, eight, and son Max Charles, five.
