"I have to say the level of bullying that this woman has received in the last few months is so disturbing and heartbreaking," Gonzalez, 34, wrote. She questioned how people could criticize Lopez while simultaneously complaining about being treated poorly themselves.
"How can you complain about someone being mean while enjoying [sic] mean about them," she queried.
"People are humans, make mistakes and some have personal things happening while also having to be constantly perfect in the public eye," Gonzalez added, urging for more kindness and understanding.
"The world is a pretty complicated place. The best thing we could be doing now is be kind. We have no clue what people are experiencing," the 'Three Body Problem' actress said.
Lopez, 54, recently announced her tour cancellation, expressing her heartbreak over disappointing her fans. "I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down," she wrote on her On The JLo website. Lopez explained that she needed time off to be with her family and close friends.
Despite rumors of lagging ticket sales, a source revealed to Daily Mail that sales were strong in key cities, especially after renaming the tour from 'This Is Me... Now' to 'This Is Me... Live'. The cancellation comes amid speculations about a rough patch in Lopez's marriage to Ben Affleck, 51. The couple, who married in July 2022, have reportedly been living apart.
Despite the rumors, Lopez and Affleck were seen holding hands at Affleck's daughter Violet's high school graduation on May 30. In a recent Harper's Bazaar interview, Lopez shared her plans for a quiet summer, focusing on family and home life.
"I love to cook. My kids love to bake. I love hosting at home, family and friends, especially now that the weather is warmer. I like to have people over. I don't like to go out a bunch," she said.
