Moss’ preparation for the role was nothing short of extensive. She underwent six months of dialect work to perfect a British accent and then trained for another two months.

Besides, she got engaged in rigorous physical training, including stunt and fight training in Paris.

“I started physically getting in shape before that, but I started doing stunt training and fight training in Paris as part of our prep, and then just continued in Turkey and continued throughout the process,” Moss shared about her preparation for the role with HollywoodLife.

The 'Mad Men' star shared, "I’ve always wanted to do [something in] the spy genre, but this was like that times 100 because Imogen is so many different people."

She said her character at the beginning of the series is different from "one you meet 10 minutes later, to the different person that you’ll meet in the second episode."

Elisabeth Moss fractured her spine while filming 'The Veil'

The physical demands of the role led to a serious incident where Moss fractured a vertebra in her back during a stunt on the rooftops of Istanbul. Despite the injury, Moss’ commitment to the project remained steadfast.

“The [scene] you see in the show is actually the second time we shot it, about six weeks later,” Moss told Variety.

"The first time we shot it I hit a wall the wrong way, let’s just say, and ended up lying on the roof for a couple hours," 'The Invisible Man' actress said.

Elisabeth Moss expressed she was uncertain about returning to the roof top of Grand Bazaar in Istanbul for a reshoot.

“It’s not like that is an easy thing to accomplish,” she remarked. Fortunately, the production team and FX made it feasible.

“Thank God, let us go back and shoot it again,” she said describing the experience as “an incredible opportunity.” The first two episodes of 'The Veil' will premiere on FX and Hulu on Friday, April 30.
