Ellen DeGeneres' relocation could be Prince Harry’s best shot at getting Meghan Markle back to UK
ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM: Comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her partner Portia de Rossi moving to the United Kingdom may unexpectedly be beneficial to Prince Harry's efforts to get Meghan Markle back to his home country, an insider source shared with InTouch on Tuesday, December 10.
The two couples have been close since the royals moved to California in 2021. However, Ellen had been wanting to leave the US for a while and finally decided to get going after Donald Trump won the general election. She sold off two properties and listed a third one for sale, before moving to Cotswold last month.
How could Ellen DeGeneres' move to UK affect Prince Harry and Meghan Markle?
An insider source told InTouch that losing Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi was "pretty upsetting" for the royal couple as they "have been absolute rocks for Meghan and Harry from the moment they moved to California. They helped them get settled in Montecito and introduced them to so many great people, they’re such a huge part of Meghan and Harry’s circle.”
However, the Sussexes "understand why they’re leaving," and for Harry, it might turn out to be the stroke of luck he needs to bring together his family.
"The silver lining, at least as far as Harry’s concerned, is that Meghan might actually agree to go over to the UK to visit them,” the source shared. “Knowing that she’d have Ellen and Portia’s support over there would be a real help and might be enough to get her to change her mind about never setting foot there again.”
Harry has been attempting to get into the good graces of his brother, Prince William, and father, King Charles, reported the publication. He even bought a home in Portugal after the King evicted them from Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle concerned about being hounded by press
While Prince Harry wants to visit his home country to get together with the royal family, he and Meghan Markle are concerned about its coverage by the media, reported She Knows.
In the ITV documentary 'Tabloid on Trial', Harry described his experience with the British tabloid saying, "It felt like harassment. It felt horrible then. It feels horrible now. It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country.”
Meghan's friend Tyler Perry recently slammed The Times when they asked him about the royals, saying, "I will say this: what I learned about mentioning them — because there’s this insatiable appetite to know all about them — is that any question that is asked becomes the headline of anything I say.”
When asked why people were so interested in the couple, he replied, "You’re from the UK, you tell me.”
