LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prince Harry has revealed that he has no plans to return to the UK, emphasizing that his family's future is in the United States as he strives to be the best father and husband.

The Duke of Sussex, who moved to California in 2020 with Meghan Markle, describes their life in the US as fulfilling his late mother Princess Diana's vision for him.

Prince Harry says US life fulfills Princess Diana’s wishes

During an interview with DealBook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin at The New York Times DealBook Summit on December 4, Prince Harry confirmed his plans to remain in the US.

When asked if he intended to stay permanently, Harry replied, "I do," adding, "I very much enjoy living here and bringing up my kids here," US Sun reported.

"I feel as though it's the life that my mom wanted for me," he said.

Prince Harry says his family enjoys freedom in US unlike the UK

Prince Harry shared that living in the US allows his family to enjoy a level of privacy and freedom unattainable in the UK.

"To be able to do the things I'm able to do with my kids that I undoubtedly wouldn't be able to do in the UK, it's huge," Harry said. "I'm hugely grateful for that."

The Duke of Sussex officially named the US as his residence earlier this year.

In a February interview with 'Good Morning America', he mentioned that while he has considered applying for American citizenship, it is not a priority.

"The American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind, but certainly is not something that is a high priority for me right now," Harry said at the time.

When asked what would stop him from doing that, Harry replied, "I have no idea."

Prince Harry hopes to be remembered as devoted father and husband

Looking ahead, Prince Harry expressed his desire to focus on his role as a family man, and while being asked what in life he would like to be remembered he said the best husband and father.

"The main goal for me at the moment is being the best husband and the best dad that I can be," he said.

Notably, Harry addressed divorce rumors in the same interview, stating, "The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls."

"Their hopes are just built and built, and it’s like, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,’ and then it doesn’t happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do," Harry said as Mirror noted.
