NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Prince Harry has finally addressed the swirling divorce rumors surrounding him and Meghan Markle, putting the speculation to rest. The rumors have gained momentum in recent weeks as the couple has been attending events separately.

During an interview with Andrew Ross Sorkin at The New York Times' 2024 'DealBook Summit', Harry joked about the trolls' belief that he and Meghan have 'apparently divorced 10 times.'

The buzz around their marriage intensified further when Meghan, stunning in a red dress, attended the Children's Hospital LA Gala solo, without Harry by her side.

Prince Harry addresses speculations regarding him and Megan Markle

During a December 4 interview with New York Times columnist and DealBook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin, Prince Harry discussed the challenges of mainstream media, misinformation, and efforts to make the digital world safer.

The conversation took a lighthearted turn when Sorkin asked about the growing speculation surrounding Harry and Meghan Markle, commenting, "And there's articles left and right about, you know, 'Why are you making, doing independent events? Why aren't you doing them together?'"

Harry quickly responded with a humorous quip, saying, "Because you invited me, you should have known!"—which drew laughter from the audience.

Sorkin pressed further, asking, "True. Is that normal for you? The second there's an article — she's in California, you're in New York — they say, 'Well, what is happening with these two, right?' Is that a good thing for you, in a way, that there's so much interest in you?"

Harry, who has lived under the royal spotlight as the son of King Charles and the late Princess Diana, responded with a chuckle, "No, that's definitely not a good thing. Apparently we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?'"

Harry continued, "It's hard to keep up with, but that's why you just sort of ignore it. The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls. Their hopes are just built and built, and it's like, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,' and then it doesn't happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do."

Prince Harry then apologized to the interviewer, acknowledging that he too could become a target of the media frenzy. He expressed his belief that this interview would likely be "spun or twisted somehow against me, and maybe you yourself will be trolled relentlessly." He went on to apologize again, saying, "For that, I can only apologize, but you did invite me, so it’s not my fault."
