LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Elliott Wilson is facing backlash online after a tweet that appeared to take a subtle jab at Drake, making fans wonder why Wilson seems so fixated on the rapper.

In his tweet, Wilson also referenced Drake's rival, Kendrick Lamar, further fueling speculations about the nature of his comments.

The controversy comes shortly after Drake shared a heartfelt moment, posting a handwritten letter from his 7-year-old son, Adonis Graham, which he shares with his former partner, French artist Sophie Brussaux.

Did Elliott Wilson take a dig at Drake?

In a tweet posted on November 18, 2024, TV producer and journalist Elliott Wilson appeared to diss Drake.

Wilson’s tweet read: “100 Gigs. Inevitable. Kendrick got these light skin [N-word] reminiscing. smh ha.”

The tweet referenced Kendrick Lamar's music and its influence on both fans and peers. It is being speculated that he called Drake "light skin".

Drake and Lamar have been involved in a rap feud since the early 2010s. Both rappers have lobbed insults and allegations about each other's personal lives and families in diss tracks over the years. Wilson is clearly on team Lamar.

He concluded his tweet with "smh" (shaking my head) and added "ha" to give the comment an amused tone.

This comes after Elliott Wilson's appearance on the 'Joe Budden Podcast' in June 2024, where he discussed how Drake suspected he might have leaked information to Lamar. Wilson recalled texting Drake to ask when he would be dropping his Lamar diss track, 'Family Matters'.

Wilson said, "So when he dropped 'Family Matters' it was just like I was like 'yo you dropping this tonight?' He hit me back like 'yeah, yeah, whatever LOL' and then he sent me a rat emoji," as per Complex.

Wilson claimed the rat emoji was perhaps Drake's way of implying that he believed Wilson had ratted him out to Kendrick Lamar. "I think he started to think like Kendrick's in Venice you're in Venice like he started to view it like I'm just really against him."

Elliott Wilson's recent tweet, where he seemingly dissed Drake by calling him "light skin", quickly sparked strong reactions from the rapper's fans. Many took to social media to defend the rapper, questioning why Wilson appears so "obsessed" with him and is constantly calling him out.

One user slammed Wilson, "Bruh as a fellow light skin who looks like drake.....aint you light skin?"

Another posted the same question, "Bro... are you not light skin?"

A fan tweeted, "You need a Drake mention that badly?"

An individual said, "You need a weekly therapy dedicated to solve your Drake issues. Seek help, man.."

A comment read, "I’m so confused why did you switch up on Drake? He gave you a platform when you interviewed him a few years back, and this is how you repay him? What a low life mid life crises loser."

One user weighed, “Guy is pushing 60 thinking about Drake all day.”

Another remarked, “His obsession with Drake is scary.”
