WASHINGTON, DC: Elon Musk stirred things up again this week, this time aiming at Minnesota’s massive fraud scandals.

He openly accused Governor Tim Walz of hiding vast fraud in the state’s taxpayer-funded social programs and demanded that he face charges for it.

The fraud schemes, which involve allegations of wrongdoing in pandemic-era child nutrition, housing support, and other public assistance programs, have put Walz, the Democratic governor of Minnesota, under intense political pressure.

Elon Musk slams Tim Walz for corruption

In a post on his platform X earlier, Musk accused Walz of ‘hiding vast fraud’ in Minnesota’s social services system, echoing criticism from Republican lawmakers and commentators.

Minnesota really landed in the national spotlight when the Feeding Our Future scandal broke.

Federal prosecutors say this nonprofit pretended to serve millions of meals to kids during the pandemic but actually funneled the money somewhere else. They called it one of the biggest pandemic relief frauds in the country.

Elon Musk recently tweeted, where he asked to prosecute Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for his involvement in the debacle.

Tim Walz and his administration have rejected claims of involvement

Walz and his team have been pushing back against accusations of a cover-up.

They say federal prosecutors, not the state, have been running the investigation and filing charges.

Walz kept stressing that they’re working closely with federal authorities, and he says his administration is stepping up efforts to prevent fraud and tighten oversight in state programs.

The newest indictments just make the scandal bigger.

Now, over 90 people face charges, some already convicted, for stealing hundreds of millions from the Midwestern state.

All this heat lands right on Gov Tim Walz’s administration, and President Trump has also harshly criticized the governor over his handling of this scandal.

Feeding Our Future, a nonprofit out of Minnesota, got caught up in a huge scandal.

Prosecutors say they stole close to $250 million from the Federal Child Nutrition Program by pretending to hand out millions of meals during the pandemic.

At least 56 pleaded guilty, and seven, including the leader, have already been convicted.

Musk’s comments to prosecute Walz come after Nick Shirley tweeted, saying, “Here is the full 42 minutes of my crew and I exposing Minnesota fraud, this might be my most important work yet. We uncovered over $110,000,000 in ONE day.”

Federal prosecutors continue to file new charges related to the broader misconduct allegations, reflecting the complexity and scale of alleged wrongdoing in multiple public assistance programs.
