Eric Trump unveils new design of presidential logo
President Donald Trump's younger son, Eric introduced the airport’s new sign on X, featuring a logo centered on a golden eagle.
The eagle is depicted wearing a crest shield with stars and stripes and holding two olive branches, with the words “President Donald J. Trump International Airport” displayed below.
The design is further accented by 12 gold stars scattered throughout.
Expressing his pride in the milestone, Eric Trump wrote, “For the first time, I am extremely proud to share the OFFICIAL logo for the Donald J. Trump International Airport in Palm Beach, Florida,” and added, “Congratulations Dad! Looking forward to seeing flights landing at ‘DJT’ very very soon!”
Details of local sanction and trademark agreements
The logo’s release followed a pivotal vote on Tuesday by the Palm Beach County Commissioners, who approved the branding and a trademark deal with the president and his intellectual property company.
This agreement provides the county with the official authority to move forward with the renaming process.
According to The Palm Beach Post, the commission approved the deal via a 4-3 vote.
This follows legislation signed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on March 30, which paved the way for the name change.
Timeline for Implementation and Code Proposals
The renaming law is scheduled to take effect on July 1, while in a release the day after DeSantis signed the measure, the airport noted that the change does not impact its current three-letter aviation code.
It stated, "The legislation does not change the airport’s code, PBI. Separate federal legislation regarding the code has been introduced. Any change would follow the FAA’s established review process."
It added, "Transition activities, including updates to signage, branding and public‑facing materials, will occur in phases. A state appropriation to support these efforts may be provided, but it remains pending. Airport operations and services will continue without interruption. PBI appreciates the continued patience and support of its travelers throughout this transition."
While the name on the terminal will change, a separate legislative effort is required to alter the airport's technical shorthand. Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) introduced a bill in March specifically to change the code to “DJT.”
Mast referred his legislation to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on March 24, but no further action has been taken on the measure as yet.
