Ex-NFL icon Tom Brady set to become minority owner as he may buy 10% stakes of Las Vegas Raiders
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Tom Brady is all set to become a minority-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders team.
The NFL legend is reportedly buying a 10% stake in the team with his business partner Tom Wagner.
The league, however, needs to approve Brady’s bid, which means 24 of the NFL’s 32 team owners are yet to give a green signal to the footballer's proposal.
How much money will Tom Brady be paying to the Las Vegas Raiders franchise?
It is still not clear how much Tom Brady will be paying to the Las Vegas Raiders but, as per CNBC’s official 2024 NFL Team Valuation, the franchise is pegged as the league’s fifth-most valuable franchise worth $7.8 billion.
Interestingly, it is reported that its value went up after the team relocated from Oakland in 2020.
Moreover, the outlet reported that the Raiders went on to earn $780 million in revenue in 2023, which was the third highest in the league.
Once the deal is approved, Brady will become the third former NFL player to become a team owner, according to NBC News.
