CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Trump White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham tore into her former boss from the stage of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, where she appeared on Tuesday, August 20.

A press aide to former president Donald Trump's 2016 campaign, Grisham assumed the role of chief of staff and press secretary for first lady Melania Trump, according to NBC News. In 2019, she briefly became the White House press secretary and then the communications director.

Grisham resigned hours after MAGA supporters stormed Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, and proudly shared that she was the first senior staffer to do so that day.

Her reason to speak on the second day of the 2024 DNC was simple. "I love my country more than my party," she insisted.

Stephanie Grisham's speech at the DNC

During her DNC speech, Stephanie Grisham revealed Donald Trump's behavior in private, saying, "I saw him when the cameras were off. Behind closed doors, Trump mocks his supporters. He calls them basement dwellers."

"On a hospital visit one time when people were dying in the ICU, he was mad that the cameras were not watching him. He has no empathy, no morals, and no fidelity to the truth," she stated.

"He used to tell me, 'It doesn't matter what you say, Stephanie. Say it enough and people will believe you.' But it does matter. What you say matters. And what you don't say matters."

"On January 6, I asked Melania if we could at least tweet that while peaceful protest is the right of every American, There is no place for lawlessness or violence. She replied with one word, 'No.' I became the first senior staffer to resign that day. I couldn't be part of the insanity any longer."

"When I was press secretary, I got skewered for never holding a White House briefing. It's because, unlike my boss, I never wanted to stand at that podium and lie. Now here I am, behind a podium, advocating for a Democrat. And that's because I love my country more than my party," announced Grisham, before adding, "Kamala Harris tells the truth. She respects the American people, and she has my vote."

Conservatives troll Stephanie Grisham online

MAGA supporters slammed Stephanie Grisham on X (formerly Twitter) for attacking Donald Trump at the DNC stage and questioned her work as the former White House press secretary. They accused her of only "wanting power".

"She did nothing as press secretary. No one knows who she is," wrote one MAGA supporter on social media.

"She went to work for him despite knowing all that. Because she wanted power and book deals," stated another.

"Most people feel that way after getting fired," said one person.

"Sad, the whole DNC is gaslighting or negative spin. No substance, no true unity, they aren't qualified to lead people or to be trusted with our safety and economy," shared another.

"Snakes and demons everywhere," wrote one individual.

"Not True and these people are the ones who have no morals to speak truth and will flip on a dime for the money," commented another.
