Expert claims Blake Lively gave ‘hand signals’ to Ryan Reynolds to strike ‘flirtatious’ poses together

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Blake Lively reportedly gave instructions to Ryan Reynolds to look “flirtatious” during a recent red carpet appearance.

The 37-year-old actress arrived at the NYC premiere of her new film, ‘Another Simple Favor’, at Jazz at Lincoln Center with Reynolds on Sunday evening, April 27, as per The Irish Star.

Lively looked glamorous in a mint green Tamara Ralph gown, which she donned with a pair of statement Lorraine Schwartz earrings. Reynolds looked dapper in a light gray tux.

On the red carpet, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were photographed holding hands and looking at each other lovingly. However, body language expert Judi James believes the ‘Gossip Girl’ actress was in charge at the event.

She said, “Blake's directive hand signals to Ryan on the red carpet show, not only her previously-illustrated fondness for directing the action out on the red carpet, but also Ryan's loyal and obedient-looking responses that create the look of sticking his nose straight into a human hand-propellor,” as reported by the Daily Mail.

James continued, “It's hard to see if Blake's circling, winding hand gesture is aimed at someone else further along the red carpet or if it's a signal to Ryan to motivate him to set off to work the camera poses.”

“It looks like she's winding up clockwork or doing some kind of countdown to rev him into instant action before he gets that extra push or nudge on the back from her other hand as he sets off,” she described.

The expert further explained that the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ actor’s “eyes almost hint at some hypnotic effect although Ryan is known for his ironic sense of humor so the facial expression could just be performed to get a laugh here.”

James also noted that a few of the poses of the couple, who have been married since 2012, are similar to celebrity pairs who struck those to look “flirtatious” together.

She shared, “Having performed a couple of classic Hollywood power couple poses on the red carpet with Blake's statuesque 'Look at me I'm a Goddess' pose and her 'Hand of Possession' pose with Ryan where she pressed her torso against his and placed an adoring hand of ownership on his chest, Blake and Ryan complete the trio of iconic poses with this third stalwart 'Whispered secrets' pose outside in the street."

“This is a favorite pose among celeb couples wanting to look flirtatious together for the cameras," she added.

“The proximity of the faces can create the suggestion in a still photo of a desire to kiss, while the whispering itself suggests an intimate, 'sweet nothings' sexy conversation between them,” James added, before stating, “Blake and Ryan top off a blizzard of PDAs here with an intense whispering ritual where its hard to see who is whispering to who or maybe they're both whispering at once in a multi-flirt experience.”

The couple’s red carpet appearance comes as Lively’s legal battle with 'It Ends With Us' co-star and director Justin Baldoni continues to heat up.

In December, she filed a lawsuit against the 41-year-old director for allegedly harassing her on the set of their 2024 film and orchestrating a smear campaign against her.

Baldoni denied Lively’s accusations and filed his own lawsuit against her, Reynolds, and their publicist, Leslie Sloane, for defamation and extortion.
