Democrats politicize Texas flood, push anti-Trump narratives

As search for missing people continues in Texas following the flash floods, several liberal figures rushed to social media to politicize the devastating tragedy.

Many liberals blamed President Donald Trump and the Republican Party for the disaster, and alleged that their cuts to the federal government, namely staffing reductions at the National Weather Service (NWS), contributed to the destruction and loss of life.

Moreover, a Democrat even used the deaths of children at Camp Mystic to make a racially charged rant against white Christians.

Sade Perkins, a former Democrat appointee to Houston’s Food Insecurity Board, ranted in her viral TikTok video, "But Camp Mystic is a whites-only girls' Christian camp. They don't even have a token Asian, they don't have a token Black person, it is an all-white, white-only conservative Christian camp."

She also blamed Trump, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick for the floods, describing them as "totally preventable".

Similarly, Christina B Propst, a pediatrician from Texas, spewed hate, saying the victims got "what they voted for" while wishing safety only for “non-MAGA voters and pets.”

Furthermore, Senator Chris Murphy struck a completely different tone, blaming the POTUS for the Texas floods.

He wrote on X, "Accurate weather forecasting helps avoid fatal disasters. There are consequences to Trump’s brainless attacks on public workers, like meteorologists."
