LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It seems the internet never gets tired of spinning wild stories involving the Trumps.

A rumor began circulating earlier this month about First Lady Melania Trump sitting down for a spicy interview with a so-called liberal TV host named Alex Brooks.

Posts about Melania Trump 'destroying' liberal TV host circulate on social media

It all began when social media users shared posts about this supposed interview across platforms like Facebook, TikTok, Truth Social, and X (formerly Twitter). Most of these posts linked back to YouTube videos, with one from the Elite Stories channel gaining the most prominence.

Titled "Melania Trump Hilariously DESTROYS Liberal TV Host on LIVE, Her Response Left Everyone Speechless," the video was uploaded on January 21 and quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of views.

Meanwhile, the video’s description read, “What happens when a seasoned talk show host tries to put Melania Trump on the spot with deeply personal and provocative questions? In this unexpected live interview, Melania's calm yet sharp responses leave the audience stunned — and the host struggling to keep control.”

It's worth noting that the so-called interview never took place. A disclaimer buried in the video description made it clear as day.

“The stories presented on this channel are entirely fictional and crafted solely for entertainment. Any resemblance to real events, individuals, or situations is purely coincidental and unintentional. These narratives are not intended to depict, reference, or represent any actual occurrences, persons, or entities,” it read.

If that wasn’t enough, the video also featured YouTube’s “altered or synthetic content” label, which is basically a flashing neon sign telling viewers the clip is AI-generated. The narration, visuals, editing, and even the thumbnail image were all fake, Snopes confirmed.

Viewers bought into the drama

Despite the disclaimers and obvious AI fakery, many viewers in the comments section were fully convinced the interview was real. And they were living for Melania Trump’s alleged response.

One commenter wrote, “Wow, Melania's response was sharp, classy, and absolutely unforgettable! This moment was pure gold — what a way to handle the situation!”

Another commented, “Alex really thought he could break her?? What a jerk. Go Melania!!!!!”

"This is truly an exchange between a person true to her morals and someone without morals," one person said.

"She always stays calm and poised. So leave her alone. I praise her for that. Most of us couldn't do that," read another comment.

"I love to see creeps like him put in their place why do these people think they are smart trying to bring someone down I’m glad the first lady knew how to handle him Bless her," someone else gushed.

"To me, she did two things: refused to rise to the bait, speaking her view on the issue, and basically told him such a question was not only unacceptable but that her relationship with Donald Trump is not his or anyone else’s business," another chimed in.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because it’s not the first time AI-generated stories about the Trumps have gone viral. Snopes has previously debunked similar YouTube videos, including one wild tale about Hunter Biden trying to humiliate Barron Trump at a charity gala.
