LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ahead of the release of the much-anticipated ‘Dune: Part Three,’ a rumor began circulating on social media platforms claiming that the film’s lead actor and Hollywood star Timothee Chalamet has announced a breakup with Kylie Jenner.

The claim has sparked speculation among fans who are calling for a fact-check into the viral claim.

According to a viral claim that surfaced on X, Timothee Chalamet announced a breakup with Kylie Jenner. The claim was accompanied by a screenshot showing an Instagram story of the ‘Dune’ actor stating, “Kylie and I have sadly split, but remain friends.”

The post has garnered almost a hundred thousand views and has spread on Facebook and Instagram, amplified by several accounts, with fans expressing concerns and disappointment, indicating that many believe the rumor to be authentic.

Meanwhile, a few others expressed scepticism, citing the couple’s public appearance in recent months at several high-profile events, prompting a fact check.

Fact Check: The claim was posted by a satire account

The claim, however, is false, as the screenshot of the actor's Instagram story is fabricated and there is no evidence of him making such an announcement.

If Chalamet had really posted such an update on social media, prominent news and entertainment media outlets would have widely covered it, making headlines, but a search on Google for the claim yielded no credible reports by the media.

Moreover, the claim was posted by an account called ‘Buzz Crave’ which describes itself in the bio as ‘parody account pushing fan agendas.’ Hence, the claim is rated as false.

A fact check by Grok confirmed this, stating, “The post is satirical fake news using a fabricated Instagram story screenshot; the account's bio explicitly labels it as parody/unserious. Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner are still together as of July 2026, with recent PDA at the World Cup final on July 19 and positive relationship reports from June.”

The claim surfaced ahead of the release of the final installment of Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’ series, amid which the actor opened up about the emotional impact of wrapping the film, admitting it was difficult to say goodbye to the franchise that has defined much of his career.

Chalamet, who portrays Paul Atreides, said completing the trilogy left him feeling "melancholic" after spending nearly a decade with the character. “I still felt like I was losing a part of me by getting through it,” he added.
