WASHINGTON, DC: Bad Bunny recently made headlines following his Super Bowl LX halftime show performance, where he became the first artist to perform in Spanish, paying tribute to his Puerto Rican culture.

Following this, a rumor circulated across social media claiming that Americans believe Bad Bunny is a better representative of the US than President Donald Trump. But is there any truth to this? Let us find out below.

Claim: Bad Bunny is a better representative of US than Trump

Several social media posts claimed that a new poll shows Americans believe Bad Bunny is a better representative of America than Donald Trump.

X account @DemocraticWins posted, "BREAKING: New polling reveals that Americans believe Bad Bunny is a better representative of America than Donald Trump. Wow."

Similarly, another X account @RpsAgainstTrump mentioned, "NEW Yahoo/YouGov poll: Who better represents America? Bad Bunny: 42% Donald Trump: 39%"

"More Americans say Bad Bunny better represents the United States than Trump does (YouGov)," wrote another X account.

Interestingly, the POTUS did not seem impressed with Bad Bunny's Super Bowl LX halftime show performance. He took to Truth Social after the game and called it "absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!"

He also described the performance as making 'no sense,' being "'an affront to the Greatness of America,'" and not representing 'our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.'

Trump's remarks came after earlier comments from Trump criticizing the NFL's choice of Bad Bunny as a 'terrible choice' and 'absolutely ridiculous.'

Fact Check: True, several media reports back the claim

The claims made in the online posts are true, as multiple media outlets covered this story, citing accurate sources.

A Yahoo/YouGov survey of 1,704 US adults, conducted from February 9-12, 2026, asked respondents, "Who better represents America?" The results showed 42% selecting Bad Bunny, 39% selecting Donald Trump, and 20% were not sure.

The poll was taken following Bad Bunny's Super Bowl LX halftime performance on Sunday, February 8, 2026, which drew significant attention and criticism from Trump.

Moreover, Democrats overwhelmingly favored Bad Bunny (78% viewed him favorably in related questions), while Republicans leaned towards the POTUS.

Meanwhile, Independents preferred Bad Bunny by a wider margin (46% to 27%).

However, it's noteworthy that this is a single poll and reflects opinions at a specific post-Super Bowl moment, as other surveys around the same time showed mixed public reactions to Bad Bunny's performance itself.

A TMZ poll found 64% of respondents preferred Kid Rock's alternative 'All-American Halftime Show' over Bad Bunny's official performance, but that measured show preference rather than representation of America.
