WASHINGTON, DC: Nancy Guthrie, mother of 'Today' host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since February 1, and President Donald Trump said abductors would face 'the most severe' federal consequences if she were found dead.

Amid this, a rumor circulated online claiming that Savannah Guthrie’s husband's company is listed as a 'co-conspirator' in the Epstein files. But is there any truth to this? Let us find out below.

Claim: Savannah Guthrie’s husband's company listed as 'co-conspirator' in the Epstein files

In mid-February, an X post claimed, "BREAKING : Yep! Her husband’s company is listed as a co conspirator in the Epstein files… FGS Global. In case you're wondering why now of all times for Savannah Guthrie's mother to be 'kidnapped'."

"Savannah Guthrie IS in the Epstein files. She is linked to the Clintons. Her husband’s name is Michael Feldman. He was "the scrubber", that is, the guy who got things harmful to the Clintons from the press, off of the internet, and out of the public eye," the X post added.

It further mentioned, "He founded a PR consulting firm with Joe Lockhart. Joe Lockhart was Bill Clinton's White House Press Secretary. After Lockhart left government, he became a senior partner at the Glover Park Group, which was co-founded by Feldman."

The post concluded, "Joe Lockhart sold his DC property at 2446 Belmont Road NW Washington DC to the Obamas. Glover Park then made Gregg Rothschild the managing director of the group's 'government affairs division'. Rothschild's wife Stefanie Herscowitz Rothschild died in a bizarre traffic accident in 2021. Down the rabbit hole we go."

Fact Check: False, facts mentioned in post are unsubstantiated

The claims in the online post are false, as Savannah Guthrie's husband, Michael Feldman, isn’t named in the Epstein files, nor is his current company.

Searching the digital Epstein files, Politifact found a 2013 email to Epstein from a person named Michael Feldman, but it seems to be someone else, introducing himself as a 'theoretical physicist'.

Meanwhile, Guthrie’s husband is a communications consultant who previously worked in the Clinton administration as chief liaison to Congress and senior adviser to former Vice President Al Gore.

Moreover, Feldman currently works as the North American co-chairman of FGS Global, an international public relations firm. Though FGS Global was not listed in Justice Department files, another public affairs company that was merged to found FGS Global was listed.

Additionally, a community note on one of the X posts said that Feldman helped found Glover Park Group in 2001, and its name appears twice in the Epstein files. The firm merged with other companies to form FGS Global in 2021.

However, these mentions are not evidence that Feldman, FGS Global, or Glover Park Group were 'co-conspirators' with Jeffrey Epstein.
