WASHINGTON, DC: The US-Iran war, now in its second month, remains an intense air and missile campaign. More than 11,000 targets have been hit, severely degrading Iran's missile launchers, nuclear sites, and military infrastructure, as Iran continues limited retaliatory strikes on US bases in the Gulf and Israel.

Amid this, a rumor circulated online claiming that the US military is building a 'massive complex' beneath the White House ballroom. But is there any truth to this? Let us find out below.

Claim: US military building a 'massive complex' beneath the WH ballroom

An X account came up with a post that read, "US Military reportedly building a 'massive complex' beneath the White House ballroom." The viral post garnered more than 193,000 views, and more than 2,800 users liked the post.

The US has deployed more than 3,500 Marines aboard USS Tripoli, with more troops, including elements of the 82nd Airborne, en route; Pentagon eyes possible limited ground raids, such as Kharg Island.

Meanwhile, Iran warns of a 'swamp of death' and continues proxy attacks and Strait disruptions, as reports power outages from strikes. IDF says its campaign is nearly complete as casualties continue to mount on all sides.

Iran has publicly denied direct negotiations, calling US claims an attempt to manipulate markets or cover for invasion plans. It has also rejected key parts of the 15-point plan as 'maximalist' and countered with its own five conditions.

The gap between the US and Iran remains wide, with military actions continuing alongside diplomacy. Progress is uncertain, and the situation could shift quickly before the April 6 deadline.

Fact Check: True, Trump revealed on March 29

Donald Trump, on Sunday, March 29, revealed that the military is constructing a 'massive complex' beneath a planned White House ballroom, which he said will feature bulletproof glass and drone-proof protections while being funded entirely by private donors.

The POTUS added that the project would expand capacity at the White House, where he said existing rooms are too small for major gatherings. He said, "The military is building a massive complex under the ballroom, and that’s under construction, and we’re doing very well."

He further added that the underground construction is already underway and tied to broader security measures surrounding the site, describing the ballroom as serving a dual purpose tied to what is being built beneath it.

The POTUS said, "We have all bulletproof glass. We have drone-proof roofs and ceilings. Everything is drone-proof and bulletproof, and unfortunately, we’re living in an age where that’s a good thing."
