Fan who claimed Taylor Swift wore her old Chiefs jacket explains why she sold it at $169 on eBay

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: A Taylor Swift fan who sold her cherished Kansas City Chiefs jacket to the pop star has opened up about her reason for pricing it at $169.

TikTok user @courttokslol revealed on Tuesday, November 5 that her family had sold her childhood Chiefs varsity jacket on eBay, and that Swift was seen wearing it at the Kansas City Chiefs vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers game on Monday.

The fan returned to the social media platform to address commenters' inquiries about the jacket, its sale, and more details.

Detailing the sequence of events, Court disclosed on TikTok that in August, she and her family sold the "rare" bomber jacket on eBay.

"We sold it this past August, so it's definitely cool to see how many months are going into the planning of each of these outfits that she's wearing," mentioned the fan, noting that the jacket's uniqueness significantly increased its appeal.

She added, "It's definitely a rare jacket, so, like, that's why we even noticed in the first place that she was wearing it, because I think ours was the only one on eBay at the time when we listed it." 

"So, it makes sense that if Taylor and her stylist had their eye on this particular piece, they bought it from us. It's so crazy, and crazy to know they're looking at these resale sites and awesome that they're reusing old, vintage pieces," remarked Court. 

She responded to further questions, clarifying that the jacket was a men's small and that she sold it because it no longer fit her and she was in the process of moving.

Court and her family are seasoned eBay sellers, but this occasion marks the first time she has seen one of their items with a celebrity. She, however, is optimistic that it won't be the last.

"We have a few other Chiefs items listed and you better believe we'll be watching for Taylor's stylist's name every time we sell one!" told Court to People.

She also humorously remarked that some commenters on TikTok suggested she should have sold the jacket for more than the $169 it fetched, but she says, "Obviously when we listed we had no idea who would be buying it."

In her original video, Court, donning Taylor Swift's merchandise, expressed her disbelief upon seeing the Grammy-winning artist wearing a jacket remarkably similar to one her family had recently listed on eBay. 

She was certain, however, that their sold item had not been purchased by someone named "Taylor Swift."

Court mentioned that her father eventually verified that they had sold the jacket and dispatched it to California from Kansas City. Upon checking the buyer's name, she discovered it matched that of Swift's stylist.

"So, we checked and double checked and not only is it the exact same jacket, but also in the pictures that we had listed on eBay, you can kind of see, like, a bend in it and you can see that exact same bend in the picture of her wearing it," explained the longtime Swiftie, adding, "I can’t make this up."

At the game, where Swift cheered on her boyfriend Travis Kelce, the pop star paired the Chiefs jacket with relaxed denim Agolde shorts, a black top, a black Dior saddle bag, and thigh-high Christian Louboutin Santia Botta boots valued at $2,195.
