AUSTRALIA: Taylor Swift, the 34-year-old Grammy-winning artist, debuted a track from her acclaimed album 'Midnights' during her concert in Melbourne, Australia on Friday night.

Reportedly performed for the first time, the emotional ballad 'You're Losing Me' from the 'Midnights (Late Night Edition)' album has sparked speculation among fans, who believe it may be about Taylor Swift's former partner, Joe Alwyn.

Taylor Swift debuts 'You're Losing Me' at Melbourne concert

Adorned in a vibrant yellow gown and seated at the piano, Taylor Swift unveiled a surprise addition to her setlist, as captured by fans on social media.

Introducing 'You're Losing Me,' the Grammy-winning artist shared, "I've never played this song live before. It's one of my favorites."

Swift's performance of 'You're Losing Me' which was released in May 2023 comes on the heels of her recent announcement of a bonus track for her upcoming album.

Listeners interpret the song as narrating the realization of being in an unhealthy relationship and the subsequent efforts to salvage it.

Fans have speculated that this could be a reflection of Swift's past relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn.

Swift also performed the title track of 'Red,' a song she hadn't brought to the stage since the previous year.

Despite speculations that 'You're Losing Me' might have been inspired by Alwyn, it’s noteworthy that Swift wrote the song a year prior to their breakup, per Daily Mail. 

Jack Antonoff, Swift's friend and collaborator, shared insights about the record on Instagram. The album, which was initially available only in physical format, started streaming last fall.

"You're Losing Me' is out today. A very special track from the Midnights sessions that's finally streaming!" he said at the time. 

He shared a candid photo of the singer in her kitchen, with a setting that included wine and raisins nearby. "Written and recorded at home on 12/5/21 right after Taylor ate those raisins," he added.

Swift's performance of 'You're Losing Me' stirred emotions among fans.

A user took to X and shared a video with a caption, "How are my you’re losing me and this is me trying girlies doing today????"

A fan responded, "I started crying in front of the cashier when packing my groceries - guess that says it all."

"Maybe in a loving healthy relationship but still might just implode from not being there for this," shared another fan. 

A person claimed, "I wish the crowd could find the key of the song."

Another fan said, "si el vagabundo de joe alwyn le fue infiel a la mismísima TAYLOR SWIFT que nos queda a nosotras las mortales," which translates to "If Joe Alwyn's homeless man was unfaithful to TAYLOR SWIFT herself, what remains for us mortals?"
