LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Conor McGregor’s father Tony McGregor has been hospitalized after suffering from a sudden heart attack.

The incident took place on Thursday morning, May 16, and was immediately rushed to nearby Hermitage hospital.

Tony had to go through surgery, during which a stent was placed.

"Heart attack in the morning, stent in the afternoon, sweet sour chicken in the evening. See ya later s*ckers," he wrote while sharing an image from his hospital bed on social media.

As per sources, Conor, who is preparing for a return to professional fighting this June is also present next to his father.

Tony McGregor introduced Connor to kickboxing

Tony was the reason behind Conor entering this sport, and he introduced him to kickboxing, per IrishMirror.

It is reported that the father took on multiple jobs to support his family, and now looks after his ‘188’ private yacht.

Tony recently appeared with his entire family during the ‘Road House’ premiere in March.

Conor McGregor is gearing up for the UFC return next month

Conor will take on Michael Chandler in his UFC return game on June 29. He has been away from the sport for nearly three years.

Tony has stood beside Conor during most of his major fights, including the January 2021 game in Abu Dhabi against Dustin Poirier.

Former two-weight champion McGregor is preparing for the upcoming fight in Dublin only.

Conor may likely fight Jake Paul once Paul completes his much-anticipated fight with Mike Tyson.

In a previous statement, Conor's manager did not dismiss the possibility of a future showdown between Paul and McGregor upon the UFC star's return to the octagon.

UFC chief Dana White earlier hinted at Conor's return for this summer, "He's good, he's ready. He wants to. He's got to sit out for the six months to get back into the drug-testing pool," White said. "So realistically... could be looking at him next summer."
