Fatman Scoop's ex-wife Shanda Freeman pays tribute as rapper dies after collapsing on stage
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fatman Scoop's ex-wife, Shanda Freeman, is mourning the sudden death of the renowned rapper and hype man.
Scoop, whose real name was Isaac Freeman III, collapsed while performing on stage in Hamden, Connecticut on Friday, August 30. He was 53.
On Saturday, the rapper’s ex-wife, Shanda took to her Instagram to pay tributes to the New York-based entertainer, as per Daily Mail.

Breaking her silence at her ex-husband's tragic death, Shanda Freeman shared photos of the rapper on Instagram and wrote, "We made history. We were the FIRST. I'm heartbroken. I love you. Always."

In another post, she wrote, "I would like to PERSONALLY THANK each and EVERY PERSON that has shown so much LOVE for Isaac @fatmanscoop and myself."
"He was an ICON and LEGEND and so many people love him. He was a pure heart and loved reaching back and helping others. Isaac had THE BEST PARENTS and learned his heart through them," added Shanda.
She concluded, "He will FOREVER be MISSED, APPRECIATED and ADORED by so many. He put me in front of the camera and I’ll forever be GRATEFUL and LOVE HIM. Thank you ALL SO MUCH!!"

Shanda and Scoop were married for 13 years before they divorced.
During an appearance on 'The Premium Pete Show' in August 2018, he shared that their divorce "had nothing to do with cheating" and "had to do with other issues," as per Today.
In 2008, the couple appeared on an MTV reality show titled 'Man & Wife', which was touted as the first series centered around a married couple in the hip-hop community.
Fatman Scoop's family announced the heartbreaking news of his death
The 'Suelta' hitmaker’s family announced his death on Saturday by taking to his Instagram. After he collapsed on stage, Fatman Scoop was given CPR and rushed to hospital.
The message shared with Scoop's 204k followers read, "It is with profound sadness and very heavy hearts that we share news of the passing of the legendary and iconic FatMan Scoop. Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life."

Describing the entertainer as a "world-class performer" and "a father, brother, uncle, and a friend," his family further noted, "He was the laughter of our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage."
"FatMan Scoop was known to the world as the undisputed voice of the club. His music made us dance and embrace life with positivity," added the statement.
Fans and fellow musicians mourn Fatman Scoop's sudden death
