Although they broke up over a year ago, it seems the two lovebirds are getting back together. Not only did the former couple run into each other, they reportedly sat together and talked during the game at Hard Rock Stadium, which begs the question - are they rekindling their romance?

The footage shows that the former 'Fifth Harmony' singer and the 'Treat You Better' performer look quite cozy, prompting speculation among fans that they could be more than just friends. Theories quickly spread among fans that this could be the first step towards a long-awaited reunion. Footage recorded by fans showing the two together sparked rumors of a reconciliation.

However, a source speaking to People confirmed that the former couple's presence together was purely coincidental. "They were there coincidentally," a source told the magazine. "She actually took her dad as her date," the source added. 

When did Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello meet?

The on-again, off-again relationship between Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes began in 2014 when they became friends and collaborated on the track 'I Know What You Did Last Summer.' Despite their close bond, they denied dating rumors during a 2016 appearance on 'The Late Late Show'.

"Every time I make a move, she just swerves me off," Mendes told James Corden. Cabello jokingly responded, "He friend-zones me; he calls me kid!"

Hints of a romantic relationship surfaced over the next two years through sweet messages shared on social media. Then, in 2019, Cabello and Mendes surprised the public by stepping out together and posing at the Grammys.

That same year, the musical duo released their second single, 'Senorita', but they split two years later. Throughout their relationship, the musicians released several collaborations and even sparked rumors of engagement, but their romance came to an end in November 2021.

Shortly after, a source informed People that Cabello had started dating again, while another source indicated that Mendes was dealing with the breakup on his own.

"Shawn is still growing and discovering himself. He needs time to focus on what makes him happy," the insider shared at the time. They added, "The timing just wasn't right for Shawn and Camila."

In March 2024, Cabello shared with Alex Cooper on 'Call Her Daddy' the reasons behind their ultimate decision to part ways, according to Billboard.
