WASHINGTON, DC: Dr Marc Siegel, Fox News' senior medical analyst, defended President Donald Trump's health on Tuesday, September 2, saying that the POTUS does not even use a teleprompter.

In recent weeks, Trump has faced renewed scrutiny over his health after being spotted with bruising on his hands, which the White House claimed was due to aspirin use and frequent handshaking. He has also experienced swelling in his feet and ankles caused by chronic venous insufficiency.

Dr Marc Siegel said, "President Trump doesn’t use a teleprompter. He talks just clearly. You’re sitting there mesmerized as he talks."

Siegel also compared the POTUS to former President Joe Biden. He said, "We had a guy doing, we called them gaffes, but he didn’t know where he was," and later added that Biden is "demented." In 2020, Siegel declared Trump to be "very cognitively advanced."

Trump made an Oval Office appearance on September 3, where he said he was "very active" over the Labor Day holiday weekend and dismissed social media reports about his health as "fake news."

He made the remarks in response to a reporter’s question about online rumors claiming the POTUS was "dead" after several days out of the public eye.

Trump also addressed speculation about his health in a Truth Social post on Sunday, August 31, where he wrote, "NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE."

Trump says he was unaware of the death rumors about him

During Tuesday’s press conference, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked Trump about a social media rumor that the president seemed unaware of.

Doocy asked, "President Trump, something completely different, but about a big viral social media trend over the weekend. How did you find out over the weekend that you were dead? You see that?" Trump replied, "No." The reporter then added, "People didn’t see you for a couple of days. One-point-three million user engagements as of Saturday morning about your demise."

The POTUS responded by talking about his schedule over the holiday weekend.

"No, I’ve been very active actually, over the weekend, I didn’t hear that one, that’s pretty serious," the POTUS said.

Trump noted that he had only heard vague concerns about his well-being. He said, "I knew they were saying, like, 'Is he okay? How’s he feeling? What’s wrong?’”

He added that he went to his Virginia golf course each day during the weekend and also gave an interview on August 29.

"It’s also sort of a longer weekend, you know, it’s Labor Day weekend. I would say a lot of people know I was very active this Labor Day. I had heard that, but I didn’t hear to that extent," the POTUS said.
