LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Frankie Valli is setting the record straight after videos of him lip-syncing on recent performances sparked concern among fans on social media.

The 90-year-old music legend, known for fronting Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, went viral last week as TikTok users circulated clips showing him appearing slightly behind in choreography and missing some lyrics during his iconic hits such as 'December 1963 (Oh What a Night)' and 'Bye, Bye, Baby (Baby, Goodbye).'

Reportedly, several clips reveal Valli holding the microphone noticeably far from his mouth, struggling to keep pace with the music.

At points, he barely moves his lips as backing tracks continue playing, and occasionally, he misses cues altogether.

The contrast is made even more striking by the younger Four Seasons members performing energetically in the background, alongside a full band in sync with the music.

According to People, fans' comments ranged from concern to disappointment.

“He needs to rest!” one viewer posted, while another called the situation “very sad.”

Speculation over whether Valli was lip-syncing or just tired became a hot topic among fans, with many urging someone to check on his well-being.

Frankie Valli clears the air and 'blessed to still be performing'

In response, Valli issued a statement exclusively to People on September 30, addressing the rumors and reaffirming his love for performing.

"I know there has been a lot of stuff on the internet about me lately so I wanted to clear the air," he said.

"I am blessed to be 90 years old and still be doing what I love to do and as long as I am able, and audiences want to come see me, I am going to be out there performing as I always. I absolutely love what I do."

He continued by explaining how his signature Four Seasons sound still resonates with fans, thanks to decades of perfecting the layering of vocals and instruments.

"We use our 60 years of experience so we sound like the records. I sing, I have singers who sing, great arrangements...everything," Valli said, adding with humor, "Nobody has ever made me do anything I didn’t want to do."

Criticism regarding Valli's lip-syncing and reliance on audio enhancements in live performances has allegedly persisted for years.

However, concerns about his health and well-being resurfaced during an August 2024 concert in Saratoga, California.

At this event, he struggled to climb a small flight of stairs onto the stage and appeared unsteady while performing.

Back then, a representative for Valli told the New York Post that, “Frankie is doing just fine and super happy to still be performing. The audiences are filling venues and listening to some great music. Frankie is doing what he loves to do at 90. We should all be so lucky.”

Over 60 years of iconic hits from Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons

Despite the buzz, Valli made it clear he has no plans to slow down anytime soon.

"I plan to be doing shows as long as I can, delivering that great 'Four Seasons' sound. Like that line in 'Jersey Boys,' I’m like that bunny on TV, that just keeps going and going and going. Chasing the music."

Over 60 years, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons have achieved remarkable success, with 40 hits in the Top 40, 19 in the Top 10, and eight reaching No 1.

Their unforgettable songs include 'Sherry,' 'My Eyes Adored You,' 'Big Girls Don’t Cry,' and 'Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.'

The story behind these iconic songs is showcased in the acclaimed 2023 musical Jersey Boys, which features 20 of the band's hits and a script by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice.

Reports claim, Nick Jonas played Frankie Valli in a Jersey Boys musical movie project in 2023.

The singer, who celebrated his milestone birthday in May 3, reportedly remains active on the road, with tour dates scheduled through April 2025.

Valli has also made waves with recent Las Vegas residencies, showing no signs of hanging up his microphone.

Lenny Kravitz praises 90-year-old Frankie Valli in deeply-felt post

Adding to the conversation, rocker Lenny Kravitz, 60, shared his admiration for Valli in a selfie posted on September 29.

"Just ran into the legendary Frankie Valli at the airport. Nothing but respect for you sir," Kravitz wrote. "Endless hits and still touring at 90 years young. Love!"

However, the recent performance concerns aren't the only headline-grabbing event in Valli's life.

Four months ago, Valli made news for another reason - his restraining order against his son Francesco, 36, was made permanent.

A judge granted Valli and his younger son Emilio, 29, protection after a disturbing altercation in April where Francesco allegedly attempted to break into his father’s property and made violent threats.

While the family drama has been challenging, Valli's personal life also includes moments of joy.

In June 2023, he married Jackie Jacobs, a former CBS marketing executive, in a private Las Vegas ceremony.
