New York judge rules Jeffrey Epstein's list will be released on New Year's Day
New York federal judge Loretta Preska ordered the release of the names on Monday, December 18, giving anyone who objects 14 days to appeal. The names will come from court documents related to a settled 2017 defamation lawsuit between Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell and one of their alleged victims, Virginia Giuffre.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for helping Epstein acquire underage girls for sex acts. Giuffre accused the pair of using her as a “sex slave” at age 16.
The list of over 150 names is expected to include a mix of Epstein’s co-conspirators and victims, including at least one high-profile public figure. Some identities will remain redacted to protect victim privacy.
Many names have already been extensively reported in the media, including former Presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton. Also on the list may be lawyer Alan Dershowitz, who represented Epstein and was accused of sexual abuse by Giuffre, a claim he denies.
With Epstein deceased and Maxwell imprisoned, the internet is waiting to see if any major new revelations emerge once all names are disseminated online come New Year’s Day.
