Garth Brooks’ health worsens as he finds himself in 'real bad place emotionally' amid assault allegations
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Garth Brooks remains determined to fight the serious allegations against him, but the country singer’s health is struggling as he finds himself in a "real bad place emotionally" during an intense legal battle.
A lawsuit filed on Thursday, October 3, in California accuses Garth Brooks, known for his hit song 'The Dance', of assaulting a makeup artist in a Los Angeles hotel room in 2019.
Brooks has firmly denied the allegations, calling them a malicious attempt to extort "many millions of dollars" in hush money.
Garth Brooks faces increasing health concerns as assault allegation leaves him 'nervous wreck'
Friends are becoming more concerned about Garth Brooks, who has been described as looking bloated and dealing with high blood pressure.
“The pressure he’s facing is enough to make him a nervous wreck,” an insider revealed. “He’d got back to being healthy physically, but now there are genuine concerns about his blood pressure."
“He’s totally convinced he’ll get through this sordid mess, but it’s caused him undue stress. He’s in legal meetings and the phone is going off 24/7. He’s having to fend off questions from friends and loved ones. It’s perhaps the most stressful event of his life,” the source added, per In Touch.
Garth Brooks reportedly turns to comfort food as a coping mechanism
This isn’t the first time Garth Brooks has faced struggles with his health. Having committed to a healthier lifestyle after reaching over 300 pounds, he relied on his wife, Trisha Yearwood, to help him shed over 50 pounds.
Now, however, the 'Friends in Low Places' singer is reportedly turning to comfort food as a way to cope. "It's obvious he's seeking solace in the bread bin as well," the source shared.
Those close to Garth Brooks have noticed the impact the allegations are having on him.
"People around him can see he's gained weight, likely from comfort eating, and worse, he's been hiding food from Trisha — sweets, chips, all kinds of unhealthy stuff that she would throw out if she found it," the source revealed.
Trisha Yearwood continues to support husband Garth Brooks amid serious legal turmoil
Despite the challenges, Trisha Yearwood, who has stood by Garth Brooks for nearly 20 years, remains a constant source of support.
The couple has "weathered many storms together, which has only strengthened their bond. They know they’re in this for the long haul, and that’s a big part of what has built such a deep connection between them," the source shared.
Garth Brooks shares three daughters—Taylor, 32, August, 30, and Allie, 28—with his first wife, Sandy Mahl, whom he married in 1986 and divorced in 2000. He first met Trisha Yearwood in 1988 and began dating her after his split from Mahl, and the two were married in 2005.
“Garth is trying not to worry and look after himself," said the source. "Everyone is saying he’ll win this, but it doesn’t take away the fact he’s in a real bad place emotionally over this scandal. He’s furious, too. Words can’t possibly describe what he’s going through right now.”
