Gavin Newsom mocks Trump after Kid Rock shares photo of them listening to ‘It’s a Man’s World’
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA: California Governor Gavin Newsom took a direct swipe at President Donald Trump on social media after rock singer Kid Rock posted a golf photo with Trump, captioning it ”golfed with your favorite President again.”
Newsom’s press office reshared the black-and-white image of the pair smiling together on a golf cart on X with the mocking comment, “cute couple.”
In his original post, Kid Rock also wrote that Trump played him a live version of “This Is a Man’s Man’s Man’s World,” performed by James Brown and Luciano Pavarotti adding, “Can’t believe I have never heard this. Incredible!” even though the song title and the opera singer’s name were misspelled.

Gavin Newsom’s social media jabs mark broader trolling of Trump
The governor’s press office didn’t just stop at “cute couple” it has a track record of repurposing political imagery and captions in ways that poke fun at Trump’s style and priorities.
Earlier, Newsom’s press account shared a video titled '2025: REDACTED,' featuring pages of redactions from the Jeffrey Epstein files intercut with footage of Trump from the 1990s.
Newsom posted a brief clip that begins, “And with that, the 2025 season comes to an end. Goodnight.”
The office has also mocked Kid Rock specifically in the past, including a post featuring an Uncle Sam-style poster with the text 'Kid Rock wants YOU to support Gavin Newsom,' captioned in classic Trump style: “I ACCEPT! — GCN.”
Kid Rock fired back the next day, writing on X, “The only support Gavin Newscum will ever get out of me is from DEEZ NUTZ.”

Kid Rock’s support for Trump and public persona
Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, has long publicly supported Trump and aligned himself with MAGA-leaning audiences.
He has appeared with Trump at political events, performed altered versions of his music to show support, and publicly embraced the president’s company and style.
His golf post, which showed a relaxed photo of him sitting beside Trump on a golf cart was intended as a celebratory moment. But it quickly became fodder for political commentary once reshared by Newsom’s team.
Kid Rock has been a longtime supporter of Donald Trump, frequently appearing at Trump-related events. He attended last year’s Republican National Convention, where he altered the lyrics of his 2000 song 'American Bad A**' to voice his support, and later stood alongside Trump during a March executive order signing aimed at combating ticket scalping.
