‘General Hospital’ fans heartbroken after Chad Duell announces exit from show after 14 years
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Television star Chad Duell announced leaving the soap opera 'General Hospital' after starring in the show for almost 15 years.
The 37-year-old actor shared the news on Instagram on Saturday, November 23, along with a picture of him and his fellow castmates.
According to Today, Duell played the character Michael Corinthos, son of AJ Quartermaine and Carly Corinthos, on the show since 2010. He won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in 2015.

In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Chad Duell shared that he felt it was time to move on from the role, and he remained grateful to his co-workers and fans for being there for him for all these years.
"After many incredible years with General Hospital, I’ve decided to step away from the show," he began. "This wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life. I’m beyond grateful to Frank Valentini, the cast, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who have been like family to me throughout this amazing journey."
"To all the fans: thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering support and for letting Michael Corinthos be a part of your lives. Your love and encouragement have meant the world to me," continued Duell. "This isn’t a goodbye—it’s a see you later. Much love, Chad."
The news of Duell's departure was confirmed by the show's executive producer Frank Valentini on X, where he posted, "I am sad to confirm the news of Chad Duell’s forthcoming exit from #GeneralHospital. I have loved working with Chad over the years and wish him nothing but the best. He is a terrific actor and will be missed by everyone at #GH."
