LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: George and Amal Clooney are reportedly working hard to keep their marriage strong despite their demanding and often conflicting schedules.
The spotlight recently turned to the couple after George made his 'Broadway' debut in the stage adaptation of 'Good Night, and Good Luck' at Manhattan’s Winter Garden Theatre on April 3. While several of his former co-stars showed up in support, one notable absence stood out—his wife of over a decade, Amal Clooney.

“She’s with the kids,” George told reporters, sparking fresh speculation on social media and fueling ongoing divorce rumors. However, insiders close to the couple insist there’s no trouble in paradise. Instead, they reveal the Clooneys have found a way to make “living separately” work, remaining fully committed to their family, even if they’re not always in the same place.
Sources highlight how George and Amal Clooney are raising their family while living apart
Amal Clooney’s absence from George’s big 'Broadway' debut didn’t go unnoticed, and it quickly reignited long-standing divorce rumors.
Following the absence, a source close to the couple shared with In Touch, “[Her not being there] definitely raised a lot of eyebrows. But the truth about their marriage is that they’re content raising a family together without having to be around each other all the time.”
Despite her high-profile image, Amal prefers to keep her personal life low-key. “Amal definitely doesn’t need to be in the spotlight,” the insider said, noting that her work as a prominent international human rights lawyer takes precedence. Her work is incredibly "serious," and she’d rather the focus stay there.
Insiders reveal how George and Amal Clooney are working to spend more time with their family
George Clooney has also spoken openly about how Amal’s career has influenced their lives, especially when she began handling cases involving alleged ISIS terrorists and financiers.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2019, he acknowledged the real and ongoing security concerns the family faces, saying, “We have plenty of issues — real, proper security issues — that we have to deal with on a fairly daily basis.”
Amal’s career has also played a role in the couple’s living arrangements. According to sources, she was hesitant to move their 7-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, to New York City during George’s 'Broadway' run, preferring instead to remain in Europe and have George visit when possible.
“When George realized he wouldn’t be happy spending so much time apart from them, Amal totally rearranged her life so that he could pursue this dream,” said the insider. “He’s incredibly grateful for her support.”
George and Amal Clooney living separately has worked for them

George and Amal Clooney's marriage isn’t without its challenges. “Like everyone else, but they’ve always had their own separate interests,” the source admitted. “But they’ve always maintained separate interests.”
While Amal recently accepted a position as a visiting professor at Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government in the United Kingdom, George’s play runs through early June in New York.
The insider added, "That could complicate things further, but they’ve had a lot of practice living separate lives while staying committed to their family. It may be puzzling to some, but so far, it’s worked for them."
