LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hollywood star George Clooney responded to President Donald Trump’s recent attacks, saying he has no interest in what Trump thinks of him.

During an interview that aired Monday on 'CBS Mornings', Clooney told host Gayle King, “I don’t care,” when asked about the president’s repeated social media insults, reports Fox News.

George Clooney, who is currently making his Broadway debut portraying legendary journalist Edward R Murrow in 'Good Night, and Good Luck', dismissed Donald Trump’s criticism, adding, “I’ve known Donald Trump for a long time. My job is not to please the President of the United States.”

Clooney told CBS, “My job is to try and tell the truth when I can and when I have the opportunity,” adding, “I am well aware of the idea that people will not like that, people will criticize that. Elon Musk has weighed in. That is their right. It’s my right to say the other side.”

Chatting with King, Clooney also looked back on a previous visit to the show, fondly recalling a moment he shared with his wife Amal. “I remember we were here with you once before and I remember we said we'd never had an argument.”

The couple has been going strong for over a decade now.

Donald Trump took to Truth Social to rant against the 'Wolfs' star following his recent '60 Minutes' appearance.

“Why would the now highly discredited 60 Minutes be doing a total ‘puff piece’ on George Clooney, a second rate movie ‘star,’ and failed political pundit,” Trump posted.

Trump has previously lashed out at Clooney in multiple Truth Social posts, mocking the actor’s film career and political opinions. In one July post, he labeled Clooney a “fake movie actor” and accused him of betraying former President Joe Biden by calling for a new Democratic candidate in a New York Times op-ed.

He also criticized Clooney’s past support of the Biden-Harris campaign, alleging he followed instructions from the “Obama camp”.

“George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act,” Trump wrote, adding, “Crooked Joe Biden didn’t save our Democracy, he brought our Democracy to its knees. Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!”
