GMA's Rob Marciano trips while reporting in heavy rainstorm as he returns to ABC for Christmas party
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Good Morning America’ weatherman Rob Marciano nearly fell over while reporting in extreme weather conditions in Norwalk, Connecticut.
The 55-year-old was reporting live from location on a flash flood emergency during a major storm on the East Coast and did his best to stay afoot but the gushing winds made it a little difficult for him to hold his ground.
Despite the hardship, Marciano managed to pull through and reported without much problem.
Rob Marciano reports live in a heavy rainstorm for ‘GMA’
The ‘GMA’ weatherman stood near the edge of a body of water while clad in his bright blue ABC News jacket and black cap with black pants.
He was completely drenched with rainwater as he spoke to GMA's Robin Roberts about the heavy rain.
We're getting hit with a nasty storm on Monday morning, but as you can see, this one is far worse," Marciano told Roberts in the studio.
He stumbled and struggled to stand up against the torrential downpour.
He reported there were 66 mph winds as he struggled against the rain and wind, noting how difficult dealing with the weather in the northeastern US was at the moment.
Over 50,000 people were without power in Connecticut as Rob continued to report on the dramatic weather.
It appeared he was struggling with braving the high winds as they pushed him around live on TV.
Near the end of the segment, as Marciano signed off, he appeared to have regained his footing where he had been standing.
Rob Marciano resurfaces at ABC for Christmas Party
Marciano arrived for a Christmas Party at ABC after being banned from the studio earlier this year for making his “colleagues feel uncomfortable.”
Rob shared a collage snap filled with photos from ABC's recent Christmas party to his Instagram Stories.
Marciano was captured standing next to ABC News Meteorologist Mel Griffin, who was sandwiched between him and another co-worker.
Marciano was dressed informally, wearing a sweater over a white collared shirt instead of a two-piece suit like he does on-air, and sported a scruffy beard.
The snap was captioned, “@abcworldnewstonight holiday party.”
