'GMA' co-host Robin Roberts misses show, attends 'The Harlem Hellfighters' screening previous night
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Robin Roberts was missing from her hosting duties on the January 2, Friday episode of 'Good Morning America', and a familiar face had to step in to fill her spot on the morning show.
The incident took place after the co-host was seen at an event for one of her external projects late the previous night, reported The U.S. Sun.
Who replaced Robin Roberts on 'GMA'?
Eva Pilgrim, temporarily replacing Roberts, appeared alongside the regular hosts George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan on the Friday episode. Later, Craig Melvin joined in on the hosting seats as well.
According to The Sun, Pilgrim is a regular choice of ABC to take over in case a regular host does not make it to the show on any given day.
The major topic of discussion for the day was the launch of Apple Vision Pro, with correspondent Will Reeve reporting on Apple's first spatial computer as well as its hefty price tag.

Robin Roberts attended a movie screening
The night of January 1 found Roberts out in NYC, attending a special screening of her film 'The Harlem Hellfighters'.
The 63-year-old looked dapper in a grey suit with a black silk shirt underneath, and black heels, reported the publication.
Before the film was shown, Roberts delivered a speech, accompanied by historian and New York University Professor Jeffrey Sammons, James Reese Europe III (grandson of James Reese Europe), and Black Enterprise magazine's Digital Editor Selena Hill, who also acted as the moderator.
The event was held at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture at the New York Public Library.
A one-hour documentary narrated by Roberts, 'The Harlem Hellfighters' "documents the hard fighting regiment of Black soldiers, who battled shocking racism at home and abroad while fighting the Germans in World War I," according to history.com.
The channel added, "The Hellfighters, who saw more time on the frontlines than any other American regiment, were initially heralded upon their return only to quickly be discarded by the Army and country they served so valiantly."
Back in January, Roberts promoted the film when she went vacationing at the Sundance Film Festival with her wife Amber Laign.
