Golden Globes 2026 worst dressed: Jennifer Lawrence, Jenna Ortega and Zoe Kravitz fail to impress
BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Not every celebrity hit the mark on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet. While some stars dazzled, others missed the memo. From questionable dress choices to over-the-top accessories, the night had its fair share of fashion missteps at The Beverly Hilton on Sunday, January 11.
Even with sparkling jewelry, flawless hair, and expertly done makeup, a few looks simply didn’t come together. After the long winter break and the first week back to work, it seems not everyone was ready to slay the red carpet. Celebrities like Jenna Ortega, Jennifer Lawrence, Glenn Powell, and more fell short of expectations.
Keep reading to see our full ranking of the night’s worst-dressed stars. Don’t forget to tune in for the Golden Globes at 8 pm on CBS.
Jenna Ortega
Jenna Ortega’s attempt to channel her 'Wednesday' vibe didn’t quite land on the red carpet. The black cutout dress by Dilara Findikoglu, with its dramatic side slit and fringe sleeves, felt more over-the-top than stylish, revealing more skin than appropriate for the occasion.
Her loose middle-parted hair and bleached eyebrows added to the edgy look, but overall, the outfit came across as a bold experiment that missed the mark.
Ginnifer Goodwin
What was Ginnifer Goodwin thinking with this choice? The 'Zootopia 2' star wore a long-sleeve black silk tulle gown embroidered with pearls and trimmed with Swarovski crystals. Instead of elegance, the gown looked like a mismatched, over-the-top experiment.
Was it meant to be whimsical or a housewarming party dress? Either way, it fell flat, and even Judy Hopps would have raised an eyebrow at this awkward red carpet misfire.
Glenn Powell
Glenn Powell nailed the classic navy velvet tux, but his hairstyle completely derailed the look. The 'Top Gun: Maverick' star wore a velvet jacket with satin lapels, tailored trousers, a matching cummerbund, and a crisp white shirt with a dark blue bowtie—a solid red carpet ensemble.
Then came the subtle mullet, straight out of the 1980s, and suddenly the outfit went from sleek to “what was he thinking?” Stylish tux aside, that hair earns him a spot as one of the night’s worst-dressed.
Zoe Kravitz
Zoe Kravitz might have called it “effortless,” but it read more like careless. Slipping into a silky blush Saint Laurent gown, she combined cream floral lace, pastel-green shoulder straps, a butter-yellow belt, and satin lavender heels—an overload of colors and textures that clashed rather than complemented.
A metallic silver flower in her braided updo seemed like an afterthought. The result was a confusing, overly fussy look that lands her firmly on our worst-dressed list.
Teanna Taylor
Teyana Taylor proved that some trends are better left in the past. She stepped onto the Golden Globes red carpet in a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture cut-out gown by Daniel Roseberry. The asymmetrical little black dress and scarf detail seemed promising until the shocking reveal: a silver-rhinestone “bijou” thong with a bow-tie shape peeked through the cutouts.
Stylish in concept but over-the-top in execution, Taylor earns a well-deserved spot on our worst-dressed list.
Aimee Lou Wood
Aimee Lou Wood looked confused between elegance and costume. The 'White Lotus' star wore a black Vivienne Westwood ball gown with an asymmetrical neckline and dramatic flared skirt. Paired with a diamond necklace, multiple rings, and makeup reminiscent of “Little Red Riding Hood meets Wednesday Addams,” the overall effect read heavy-handed and outdated.
Brittany Snow
Brittany Snow tried to make a statement, but it missed the mark. The “Swan White” sleeveless gown by Danielle Frankel had dangling circular details that turned an elegant dress into a visual mess.
Sheryl Lee Ralph
Sheryl Lee Ralph wore a simple brown sleeveless gown with chain detail that fit awkwardly. A high hairdo couldn’t save the mismatched look, leaving her firmly on the worst-dressed list.
Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence’s custom Givenchy gown by Sarah Burton, with its translucent, body-skimming silhouette and delicate floral embroidery, was intended to be daring. Instead, it read awkward and overly exposed. Paired with her blunt, bleached-blonde haircut, it became more “fashion experiment gone wrong” than glamorous.
Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg’s black tux with a red sash missed the mark. Instead of sleek, he resembled an army general, with a black tie, dark shades, and prominent jacket buttons overshadowing his crisp white shirt. Another major red carpet miss.
