LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Caitlyn Jenner has made a seemingly scathing response following the death of OJ Simpson. The former Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, April 11, "Good Riddance #OJSimpson," Sportskeeda reports.

The 74-year-old and the infamous NFL athlete were friends decades ago but it ended after the ex-Buffalo Bills player was accused and arrested for the murders of his late wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

Caitlyn Jenner wrote about the famed OJ Simpson trial in her memoir

In her memoir, 'The Secrets of My Life', Jenner wrote about the notorious Simpson trial and claimed the late Robert Kardashian Sr, who served as one of Simpson’s defense attorneys during the proceedings, suggested that he believed Simpson was responsible for the murders.

“I would’ve been OK with it if they had gotten him in the first trial,” Jenner claimed Kardashian told her. “The implication was obvious that he believed OJ was guilty. I believe [Simpson] got away with two savage murders.”

However, the former Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers player was ultimately acquitted of both murders, though he was later found responsible for Nicole’s death in a civil trial.

Caitlyn Jenner always backed her claims

The 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' alum never backed down from her claims about Simpson being responsible for the duo’s deaths, as she claimed on 'Big Brother VIP' that he “got away” with murder.

“Obviously he did it, and he got away with it, and at one point he even told Nicole, ‘I’ll kill you and get away with it ’cause I’m OJ Simpson,'” Jenner said, according to an excerpt of the broadcast posted to YouTube in 2021.

Caitlyn Jenner prohibited her kids from talking about OJ Simpson

Jenner also told late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel that she hadn’t seen Simpson since Nicole’s funeral in 1994 and even once banned the Kardashian-Jenner kids from talking about him, immediately after the not-guilty verdict came in, Page Six reports.

“That night the verdict came in, Kourtney and Kimberly were in school and obviously they loved their father — and they should — and they’d been following this for a year and a half,” Jenner, who was married to Kris Jenner from 1991 to 2015, explained on UK reality series 'I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!'

“And when they walked in the door, I think it was Kourtney who said, ‘Well I told you he didn’t do it.’ And I just said to the girls, ‘I don’t want his name ever mentioned in this house again,’” Jenner narrated.

Simpson's family announced on Thursday, April 11, that the Super Bowl champion succumbed to cancer on Wednesday, April 10, at the age of 76.
