'Gossip Girl' star Samantha Rose Baldwin bravely runs through Los Angeles wildfire to rescue beloved cat
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In an act of pure courage and love, 'Gossip Girl' reboot actress Samantha Rose Baldwin, 26, risked her life to save her beloved 10-year-old tortoiseshell cat, Kitty, from the devastating Palisades Fire.
The inferno, fueled by fierce Santa Ana winds, left many scrambling for safety, but Baldwin’s determination to protect her furry companion defied all odds, Daily Mail reported.

Samantha Baldwin recalls harrowing rescue of her cat Kitty
Instead of fleeing like most, Samantha Baldwin embarked on a perilous journey back to her Pacific Palisades apartment.
With traffic at a standstill and GPS predicting a two-hour delay, she made the bold decision to abandon her car and run.
"I ran for about 15 minutes on Sunset Boulevard until I made it home," she told Daily Mail, recounting the chaos of her journey.
Her father, Michael Baldwin, a security guard, was simultaneously helping evacuate students from a nearby elementary school that was later engulfed in flames.
Once home, Baldwin faced another challenge: finding Kitty, who had taken refuge inside the couch.

“It took 20 minutes for me to find her. She had gone into her best hiding spot... I grabbed her, wrapped her up in a blanket, and put her inside my cat carrier backpack.”
By then, the fire had advanced dangerously close, cutting off Baldwin's path back to her car.
“The fire was all around us. The terrifying part was when a big gust of wind and smoke came in so fast that you couldn't see anything,” she said.
Realizing her only option was to head toward the ocean, Baldwin sprinted through a literal minefield of flaming debris, her cat strapped to her back and a suitcase in tow.
"It felt like something I would see or do in an action movie, not my real life," she reflected.
Baldwin’s desperate dash led her to Pacific Coast Highway, where she joined others fleeing the blaze.
She described the harrowing moment she called her mother: “I told her I loved her. I honestly didn’t know if I was going to make it.”
Eventually, she made it to the beach and reunited with her father, who was aiding firefighters in directing traffic.
Samantha Baldwin reflects on Kitty surviving second natural disaster
Despite the physical and emotional toll, Samantha Baldwin expressed immense gratitude: “My body aches. I feel like I got hit by a bus and run over three times... but overall, I am so thankful to be alive, and that my dad and cat are safe.”
Baldwin and Kitty are now staying with a friend in North Hollywood. The resilient feline, no stranger to disasters, originally came to Baldwin as a foster from a family displaced by Hurricane Maria in 2017.
“This is Kitty’s second natural disaster,” Baldwin noted. “She’s adjusting well—we travel everywhere together when I’m on location.”

Baldwin, who has two films slated for 2025, including 'Kaitlyn's Chance', is taking time to recover while reflecting on the ordeal.
“I had so much ash on my face yesterday that I looked like I just walked out of Mad Max,” she quipped.
The Palisades Fire has left a trail of destruction, with mandatory evacuations spanning from the Pacific Coast to Pasadena.

Overwhelmed firefighters have issued urgent calls for reinforcements, contending with blocked routes, dry hydrants, and the daunting scale of the disaster.
Two fatalities and countless destroyed structures underscore the fire’s tragic toll.
For Baldwin, however, the outcome is one of survival and love. "At the end of the day," she said, "Kitty is safe, my dad is safe, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful."
