LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A 2017 clip of Armie Hammer throwing some subtle shade at Blake Lively on 'Watch What Happens Live' has resurfaced.

The clip is bubbling back up just as Lively’s harassment lawsuit against her 'It Ends With Us co-star' Justin Baldoni is reaching its boiling point.

Armie Hammer's comments about co-star Blake Lively spark controversy

On the 'Watch What Happens Live' episode, Armie Hammer sat next to comedian Chelsea Handler when a fan asked him to spill the tea: "Who was the 'biggest diva' on the set of Gossip Girl?" Hammer had a brief but memorable four-episode arc on the hit CW series back in 2009.

Armie, clearly squirming, replied with a diplomatic but loaded answer: “Let me just say that was a tough show to film, and I didn’t end up actually filming all of the episodes I was supposed to because it was such a tough filming.”

Hammer cryptically added, “It was also like, ‘Get him out of here.’” It sure sounded like Armie was hinting at being let go from the series, though he didn’t spell it out.

When host Andy Cohen pressed for details—asking who his love interest was on the show—Armie’s face said it all. Sheepishly, he admitted, “Blake.”

Chelsea didn’t miss a beat. She fired back, “Sounds like she was the problem,” while Andy chimed in, “It sure does, Chelsea. That’s exactly what I was thinking.”

The room burst into laughter, but Armie’s reaction was a bit awkward. He laughed nervously, raised his eyebrows, and quickly said, “No, no, that’s not what I’m saying.” Except, his body language kind of said the opposite, per the Daily Mail.

The resurfaced clip has fans wondering whether Armie’s comments were a subtle dig at Blake Lively’s alleged on-set behavior. And with the actress currently locked in a heated legal battle with Baldoni, this blast from the past has taken on a deeper meaning.

Blake Lively vs Justin Baldoni

So, what exactly is the deal between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni? Blake, 37, starred opposite Justin Baldoni, 40, in 'It Ends With Us.' Not only did Baldoni act in the film, but he also directed it. The movie — which hit theaters last August and is now streaming on Netflix — is at the center of some serious allegations.

Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department, claiming Baldoni created a hostile work environment. She alleged he even improvised unwanted kissing scenes.

The day after Blake’s filing, The New York Times dropped a bombshell report revealing Baldoni had hired a crisis PR team to “bury” Lively and discredit her. Blake responded by suing Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer Studios the very same day.

But Baldoni wasn’t about to take the hits lying down. He fired back with a $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times, accusing the paper of pushing an “unverified and self-serving narrative.”

Now, his attorney Bryan Freedman is turning up the heat. In a statement to People on January 7, Freedman claimed he has “receipts” that show Blake Lively’s alleged behind-the-scenes bullying.

“It is painfully ironic that Blake Lively is accusing Justin Baldoni of weaponizing the media when her own team orchestrated this vicious attack,” Freedman said, adding that Lively’s team sent “grossly edited documents” to The New York Times before filing her complaint.

Freedman didn’t stop there: “We are releasing all of the evidence which will show a pattern of bullying and threats to take over the movie. None of this will come as a surprise because consistent with her past behavior Blake Lively used other people to communicate those threats and bully her way to get whatever she wanted. We have all the receipts and more.”

Blake Lively’s team responds

Blake Lively’s lawyers aren’t backing down. They slammed Justin Baldoni for launching “even more attacks” against their client and doubled down on their claims that her allegations are backed by hard evidence.

“This is not a ‘feud’ arising from ‘creative differences’ or a ‘he said/she said’ situation," Blake's legal team said in a statement.

They added, “As alleged in Ms Lively’s complaint, and as we will prove in litigation, Wayfarer [Studios] and its associates engaged in unlawful, retaliatory astroturfing against Ms. Lively for simply trying to protect herself and others on a film set."
