According to Dru, when Armie responded with a vague request for “money or whatever,” she surprised him with a different idea.

“I believe I’m going to give you a vasectomy,” Dru told him.

Confirming the unusual gift for his birthday on August 28, Armie revealed that he followed through with the procedure.

“I go to a doctor’s office and I go, ‘Yes, I’m here to schedule a vasectomy,’” he shared.

Armie Hammer reflects on fatherhood

Armie Hammer, who shares two children, Harper, nine, and Ford, seven, with his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers, was certain about his decision to get the vasectomy.

“I don’t want any more kids, I’m good to go,” the 38-year-old actor told his doctor.

The physician reminded Armie that while vasectomies are reversible, the reversal process is more complex.

“You’re not going to talk me out of this. Like, I’m done. I’m good," said Armie.

He further recounted a humorous interaction at the doctor’s office when it came time to pay for the procedure.

Without health insurance coverage, he explained to the receptionist that his mother would be footing the bill.

“My credit cards won’t cover this. My mother will be calling you, and she’s going to be paying for it,” he recalled.

Armie then told the receptionist, “Yes, my mother gave me this as a birthday present.”

Dru, despite her Catholic beliefs, took a pragmatic view of her son’s decision.

“I would love to say I’m praying my son wouldn’t have sex outside of marriage, but I know that’s not going to work,” she admitted.

“It’s a miracle we don’t have a bunch of little Hammers running around,” she joked, acknowledging his past.

Reflecting on his past fame and wealth, he quipped, “Maybe when I had money, they would,” in response to his mother’s comment that young women might still want to have his baby.

However, Dru expressed her unwavering belief in her son’s future success as she said, “You’re going to have money because I know you’re called to be an actor,” according to The Independent.
