LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Singer-actress Halle Bailey and her partner DDG welcomed their first child into the world in January 2024. On the other hand, DDG has also been under fire from users on X, formerly known as Twitter, for pulling a prank where he announced Bailey's pregnancy in April 2023.

On January 6, the 'Little Mermaid' actress revealed the baby's arrival on Instagram with a photo of herself holding the infant's hand, with DDG's hand also visible underneath.

The caption of the post read: "Even though we're a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo the world is desperate to know you."

With the comment, "My biggest blessing by far 👶🏽❤️ son son.. never been so in love 🥹 baby halo," DDG also posted a similar photo.

DDG faked Halle Bailey's pregnancy announcement

As previously mentioned, DDG's fake pregnancy post from 2023 is making a comeback. He shared an ultrasound picture on X with the caption, "Can't wait to be your dad."

Fans searched Bailey's social media after the photo went viral, but they were unable to uncover any stories or postings about her pregnancy.

DDG eventually disclosed the next day that the news was a hoax, given the post was shared on April 1, 2023, which also marks April Fool's Day.

With comments like "We get it because it’s April fools but babies and faking a pregnancy isn’t cute" and "This is the oldest and worst April fools prank. Surprised you never got the memo that this isn’t funny," fans at the time questioned the post's authenticity.

Some countered that the 23-year-old star of 'Little Mermaid' would "never let a boy like you ruin her million dollar career", per Page Six.

Another commenter said at the time, "April fools cause you won’t trap halle," and another person said, "Halle might be with you rn but she’ll never ever give you a child baby bro."

Halle Bailey and DDG were first seen together at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in March 2023 after attending Usher's concert in 2022. They made their debut on the red carpet at the BET Awards in June of the same year.

The pair announced the arrival of their child over the weekend, ending months of rumors that the 'Color Purple' actress did all in her power to hide her growing baby bump.

Internet revisits DDG's initial pregnancy announcement

With a quick chuckle about how everyone was so wrong, X users went back to DDG's original pregnancy announcement on the online platform X.

"He really got the last laugh in the end," one person wrote, which was followed by, "Look around everybody on mute."

A third one quipped, "Lmao and all y’all swore she wasn’t gone give him a baby Thought he was lying He been nutting all inside her."

"Makes sense now," chimed in another one.

Another one wrote, "I knew DDG wasn’t joking when he posted that ultrasound. Fake pregnancy announcements are so tasteless."

One more shared a throwback clip of DDG and wrote, "Throwback 11 months ago from today DDG told us what he would name his and Halle’s 1st child .. Halo."

"I wish we all ignored Halle and DDG's little baby announcement just to show them we can also play their little game.. But yall don't stand on anything, of course," wrote another one.

One more said, "DDG got off posting that ultrasound picture on April Fools last year lol, the funniest thing tho is to see how many people was hating in the replies .. Hating BAD too."
